Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Range Review

My favourite skincare range from Body Shop is their Vitamin C range. I love the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion  products which are amazing for keeping the skin bright and plump. I was very delighted to see they had added two more products to the range. I received these two products in a Body Shop Event I attended last month. I am sure you must have seen many people, especially bloggers, talk about the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser* and I was so pleased to have a chance to try it out. I also got the Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer* which is equally good. Right, let's get into the review and find out what I think about them.

Packaging
I have to say I love the packaging of both products mainly because the bright orange colour just makes me happy. The combination of orange, black and white really makes them stand out among my other skincare products. I particularly love the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser packaging because it feels so sturdy and looks much more expensive than it is. It is also so easy to travel with as the lid shuts securely and it is 50 ml (can be popped in your hand luggage). The Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer is also travel friendly and comes in a 25 ml tube.

What Body Shop Says
The new additions to the Body Shop Vitamin C range are designed to give the skin a healthy looking glow with a boost of energy from Camu Camu Berries. Apparently, Camu Camu Berries contains 60 times the Vitamin C power of an orange. I think that 's really incredible. These Camu Camu Berries are responsibly sourced from the Amazonian Rain Forest. The Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser* aims to do three things to the skin: Boost skin's glow, Energise and Hydrate. The Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer* is an instant fix for a healthy looking glow and it is designed as the last step of your skincare regime. I was instantly sold when I listened to these claims during the presentation at the event and I was looking forward to trying them out.

I had seen this moisturiser in-store a few times and I told myself I need to pick it up. You can imagine how delighted I was to see it was included in the generous goody bag I received at the event. I have already mentioned I love the packaging but it really does look pretty on my dresser. The texture is very different to any other traditional moisturisers I have tried. Instead of a creamy texture, it is has gel-like texture which feels very light on application. It has a lovely citrus smell and it also has a slightly beigey orange colour (such a crap description but that's the closest I can get...hehehehe). The first thing I noticed on application was how cooling and refreshing it felt against my skin. It feels really good especially with the warmer weather and I feel this would be perfect for people who live in tropical countries. It absorbs so easily and it does not have any trace of oil at all in it. This makes it suitable for all skin types including oily and dehydrated skin. If you have dry and deydrated skin, I feel this would be your new BFF because it feels very hydrating on the skin. Most of all, there is an obvious glow to the skin after you have used it. I think it picks up light in a flattering way and it just makes my skin glow (without the shine). The best part is that I have noticed my skin feels brighter and healthier looking. I know it sounds all too good to be true but it is really an amazing moisturiser and I would be repurchasing a few for my Mum and Sister.

Initially, I was a little confused on how and when to use this product. I knew it was meant to be used as the last step in my skincare routine but I wondered if I should skip using a primer or not. The good thing is; it works in many ways. It can be used as a glow enhancer (as the name suggests), a primer, a moisturiser, etc. I use it mainly as a primer and when I want to add an extra glow to my skin. I find that it works really well when paired with the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. It has a slight peachy rose tint to it but it disappears once you blend it into the skin. It also absorbs really well on the skin. The first thing I noticed was the cooling/refreshing effect on the skin. I also noticed it slightly blurred out my enlarged pores and helped my foundation apply so much better.. I was really surprised that it increased the longevity of my foundation and slightly kept my skin matte. I did not expect that at all but I was pleasantly surprised and delighted if I may add. I have since tried it on other days as a primer and it works well but I would not say it is the best primer I have tried. However, the glow enhancing properties and the priming qualities really makes it a unique product.

Overall Thoughts
I have really enjoyed (and still enjoying) both products as they are amazing. If I were to buy just one, I would definitely go for the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser* because it is a good all rounder for all skin types, I believe. My skin feels really good and looks healthy. I am keen to see how it works during Winter as well because that's actually when my skin looks dull. I think both products are reasonably priced and Body Shop always offer discount codes so it is always a good time to stock up on your favourite products. Have you tried the new Body Shop Vitamin C range?

  1. Ok, these both sound amazing and perfect for my dehydrated skin! I suffer from dullness but can't use anything that leaves my skin shiny so these sound a great solution :) xx
