Body Shop Skincare Tools/Accessories

I recently went a little crazy when Body Shop had their 40% off towards the end of 2014 (I still can’t believe we are in 2015 already). I decided to invest in Skincare Tools/accessories because I prefer Body Shop skincare products compared to their makeup. I picked up a few simple tools which I had been eyeing for a while and they are all very inexpensive. Although I have my trust No 7 Cleansing Brush, I wanted to try something different to see if it would have any benefits to my skin. The only snag is you have to ensure you wash and rinse these tools properly after each use to prevent any bacteria and other germs build up but I have enjoyed incorporating them in my skin care routine.

Body Shop Facial Massager RRP £4
This has been featured once on this blog as a favourite and it still is. It’s essentially a facial massager/roller which is such a simple tool with many benefits. I use this when I use a facial oil straight after cleansing my face and it’s one of the most relaxing things to do especially after a stressful day. I wish I had a machine that would just roll it across my face while I nap because it feels so good. Apart from the good feeling, it helps ensure my facial oil gets absorbed better and evenly across my face. It also aids in circulation and rumour has it that it helps keep the face plump and prevents wrinkles. The thing is you need to know how to use it and the best way according to skin care specialists is to roll upwards towards the forehead as opposed to downwards towards the jaw. This way any wrinkles or sagging of the skin is prevented. I absolutely love this tool!

Body Shop Facial Loofah Pads £4 for 3
I only tried this because I wanted to relieve a childhood experience of using a loofah. I had various loofahs when I was a kid and I loved them although I never used them on my face. I was intrigued with Body Shop’s version but I was a bit hesitant because I didn’t want anything harsh on my face. Surprisingly, it’s not as harsh as it looks but you need to ensure you are using the right side. There is a roughish side and a smoothish (less rough) side which you can tell by looking at or feeling it. It’s always best to use the smooth side which is excellent for exfoliating the skin. It’s rough enough to dislodge any dead or scaly skin but it is still gentle enough to prevent any skin irritations. I use this a few times in the week and I actually really love it. I am not sure if it would be suitable for people with sensitive skin but I have not had any issues with it. I think they have samples to feel in-store so you can tell if it is something your skin will get along with before purchasing it. It comes with three pieces of loofahs inside which is really handy as you can use one every two weeks or more depending on your preference.

Body Shop Facial Buffer £4
Now this is for people with sensitive skin who can’t stand the facial loofah pads. This exfoliating sponge is more ideal for everyday use compared to the loofah and I love it. It has a small band through which you can slip your fingers and scrub your face well. It gently exfoliates the skin and helps my cleanser do more work compared to just using my fingers. I prefer to use this in the morning because it is gentle and I feel my face is not very dirty or greasy. It feels really good on the skin and it’s quite enjoyable. If you use this in the evening after a full face makeup, you would have to rinse it sufficiently to keep it clean. Alternatively, you can remove your makeup with a good makeup remover or wipe before proceeding with this. That’s it folks...Have you tried any cheap/traditional cleansing tools? See you in my next post...xx
