Tag: The Skin Care Tag

Hey Lovelies,
I hope you have been enjoying your Sunday and getting ready for the new week ahead. I feel so lazy right now but I keep remembering my promise to post every day. I have a few other posts in my draft but I don't feel like taking pictures right now of the products I have to show you. So, I'd prefer to do an easy post with all my heart rather than a half hearted post all in the name of publishing a blog post. I was just going through my BlogLovin App on my phone trying to catch up on new blog posts when I saw this Tag on the Makeup Savvy and she tagged her readers so here I am tagging myself and everyone else reading this post. You all know I have recently been into taking care of my skin so I can't imagine a better time for this tag to come up.. Read on for my answers

Describe your skin care routine in 5 words
100% Natural, Cleansing, Straightforward, Simple and Gentle.

                                                       What's your skin type?
Combination around my face and Oily around my T-Zones

                                              What's your favourite Skincare Product?
It is really hard for me to narrow it down to just one but I guess I would have to go with the Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar and Facial Oil which I have been using for almost 2 months now, I have a review on this here. It is one of the products I really love because it completely captures all I ever look for in skincare except for the price...hahaha. I think it is a fantastic product that nourishes my skin naturally which is why I close my eyes to its cost.

                                                        Top Blemish Zapper
It has to be my Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel which was just recently reviewed here on my blog. I love how gently and effective it feels on my skin despite its 5% Benzoyl Peroxide content. It works like magic and I literally have no spots/acne/pimple the next morning after applying it the night before. It's my Holy Grail Blemish Zapper.

                                                   Face Wipes Yah or Nay?
Can I say YahNay? It's only because I always use face wipes (Simple Face Wipes are my favourite) everyday to take off my make up and then proceed to cleanse me face thoroughly. So, Yah to using it everyday and Nay to using it only for removing my make up without cleansing thoroughly. I honestly cannot remember the last time I went to bed without giving my face a thorough cleanse no matter how tired I am (even when I get home like 1:30am on rare occasions). I view cleansing my face as a pamper routine which I always look forward to rather than dread which is why I rarely miss it :-)..Blog post on my top products for removing my make up here...

                                                          Toner Yah or Nay?
I only started getting into the routine of using a toner. I have never understood its importance and always skipped that part in my skin care routine. But now, I understand its importance in balancing my Skin's PH especially after using cleansers. So, it's a Yah for me. My favourite Toner is the

High End Skin Care or High End Makeup?
I would have to go with High End Skin Care only because I have been trying to stick to only natural and organic skin care products (e.g. Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar and Oil and Aqua Mineral Mud Mask review here) which are nowhere near cheap. They are high end but they are also very good quality. I am not very fussy about High End Make Up because I feel if your skin is on top of its game, you may not even need any make up or worst case scenario, any Drug Store make up would suffice. Having said that, I always invest in a High End Foundations or Powders like my Bella Pierre Mineral Foundation reviewed here. At the end of the day, there is no guarantee that High End products (Both Skincare and Make up) would deliver the best results because a lot of other factors are involved such as genetic factors, environmental factors, lifestyle, etc.

What's the most unusual Skin Care product you have tried?
I don't think it is any unusual to some people but it was pretty unusual for me. It was a mixture of Lime/Lemon with Bicarbonate of Soda to fade away dark blemishes. Surprisingly, it actually works but it may be a little harsh for many sensitive skins and you really need to be careful while using it..I may actually try it out again :-)

You're in a French Pharmacy and can pick only one item- What is it?
I guess this would not come as a surprise to anyone but I would pick the Bioderma Micellar Solution which has been raved about by everyone I know. I know I can buy it online but I feel so stingy at the minute and I don't want to pay for shipping..Hahaha. Anyway, I can't imagine being in a French Pharmacy and picking only one item; I would be like a kid in a candy shop. I would bring the whole pharmacy back in my suitcase to London :-)))

Tell us your Top Skincare Tip?
I hate to sound like a nagging mama/nan but it is so important to take off your make up everyday and give your face a nice cleanse and wash. It's a simple tip yet it may seem daunting when you are really tired and thoughts of sleeping on your bed have been occupying your mind ever since you stepped out of it. Still, you need to summon up the strength and cleanse your face because your skin would definitely thank you for it.

I hope you enjoyed reading this but I am sure if you regularly read my skin care posts, you would be familiar with my answers. I tag everyone reading this and I would love to read your answers..Keep the tag flowing and have a wonderful week ahead...toodles...xxx
