Roger & Gallet Fragrant Wellbeing Water Review

When the sun is out here in the UK (even for a split second), everyone goes wild because it is not something we are blessed with every day. Fine, we may have had some windy days,  nights and rainy moments but so far, I have loved the little Summer we've had.  When the warmer weather approaches, I tend to switch up my fragrances to reflect my happy and carefree mood. I love fresh, floral/citrus scents and I love fragrances that wear nicely through the day with little or no need to reapply. You all know I am a huge fan of Roger & Gallet and everything I have tried from their range have blown me away. Everything from the design of the bottles to the actual blend of notes is very impressive and I do have a really soft spot for their products. The fragrance that stole my heart was the Fleur de Figuier* (review here) and it’s still one of my Top 5 fragrances. I have purchased a few other fragrances for myself and have been gifted others  including shower gels and body balms and I love them all. I was excited to try out their Fragrant Wellbeing Waters* which was recently launched a few months ago. I know quite a few things about EDTs and EDPs but fragrant waters are new to me and I was curious to find out more about them. Apparently, Fragrant Waters are essentially made from water that has been infused with either herbs, extracts or flowers, etc and usually have a sweet aromatic smell. Well, that’s what Google told me and I think that’s about right. The important thing is they are meant to be light but still last long and smell amazing all through the day. I was kindly gifted with two fragrances from their range to try out back in May and I wanted to share my thoughts...

Roger & Gallet Fragrant Waters Review
Roger & Gallet describe the fragrant waters as the art of wellbeing through a perfume and I totally agree. According to their website, these fragrant waters are designed to transport you to the heart of the most beautiful private gardens in the word. There are about seven fragrances in the range including Ginger (Gingembre), Fleur D’Osmanthus, Bois D’Orange, Rose, Green Tea, Fleur de Figuier and Citron. They all look so beautiful and the ones I own smell incredible.  Fragrant Waters are well suited to Spring/Summer or if you are going away on holiday to a warmer climate. One thing I love about the Roger & Gallet Fragrant Waters is that they last for a good while compared to other lighter summer fragrances I have tried and it's all down to the expert way their scent notes are blended.

Packaging
Isn't their packaging so delightful and summery? I find that anything with vibrant colours usually catches my attention especially when it comes to beauty (maybe not with clothing). The bottles sit so pretty on my dresser and have a classy feminine vibe to them. The back of the bottles have the most beautiful lace-like intricate detailing which I absolutely love. It's so unexpected and I don't think I own any other fragrance with such detailing at the back.  The lids are very secure (they click into place when they are shut) which makes them ideal to travel with. The bottles themselves are 50ml each which is a good size for a fragrance. I definitely prefer 50 ml to 30 ml but I will ultimately purchase 100ml for my favourite fragrances because they work out cheaper.

Fleur D’Osmanthus Fragrant Wellbeing Water* //Link //£24
When it comes to describing fragrances, I just go on to the website so I am accurate especially when describing the notes used to create the fragrances. With the Fleur D'Osmanthus, it's inspired by the Chinese Garden of Eden (which sounds ooooh so lush!) and is designed to offer invigorating notes that help you feel uplifted. The Heart Notes include Osmanthus Flower (of course) blended with distilled precious essences of Benzoin, Neroli and Patchouli infused with the freshness of Grapefruit and Mandarin. This is my current favourite Summer Fragrance. I wish I could pinpoint what exactly it is about this fragrance that excites me but it just does. I think it's the brilliant way the notes are expertly blended that really appeals to me or maybe it's the Neroli and Pathcouli (I would never know) . I honestly thought it would be one of those fragrances that I'd have to reapply a couple of times during the day because it is a fragrant water. I was wrong. I've never actually had to reapply and I can still smell it ever so lightly at the end of the day. I will not class it as long lasting as the Fleur de Figuier EDP* but it's not too far off. If I go away on holiday again (say to Summery Spain), this would be my choice of fragrance. If you are close to an M&S, John Lewis or House of Fraser (Roger & Gallet have recently launched in-store), just run to the Roger & Gallet counter and give this a sniff. You would love it, I promise (unless you absolutely hate citrus or floral fragrances but this is not over the top at all).

Bois D'Orange Fragrant Wellbeing Water* //Link //£24
This is actually my second Bois D'Orange product from Roger & Gallet with my first being the beautiful hand cream which came in a Christmas Cracker (I love it so much because it fits perfectly  in my clutch). The Bois D'Orange Fragrant Wellbeing Water is inspired by the Andalucian garden and as the name suggests it's a citrus fragrance.  Roger & Gallet describe it as vibrant, flowery, soft and woody and this is illustrated in the ingredients used. Its Heart notes include Orange Extracts blended with distilled precious essence of Petit Grain, Cedar, Patchouli and infused with the effusive notes of Bitter orange and Mandarin. As you would imagine, it's quite an unusual blend (well, among all my fragrances) and I don't think I own anything similar to it. At first, I was not sure if it because it comes off slightly strong when you first apply it and I was already obsessed with the Fleur D'Osmanthus which is softer. However, I decided to give it another chance (and many more after that) and guess who now loves it? Yes, you guessed right! The initial vibrant citrus notes gives way to the Cedar and Patchouli which are woody fragrance notes and that's what I smell through the day. It's still a very citrus scent but I love the way the woody notes meshes with the citrus one. I don't wear this as often as the Fleur D'Osmanthus but I do find myself reaching for it more for summer nights.

Cost// Link //Where to Buy
They retail for £24 each and they come in 50 ml as mentioned earlier. I believe they also have it in 100ml which costs £32 and I think it even works out more cost effective. I don't know if the 100ml ones are the actual Fragrant Wellbeing Waters or another version but they do smell the same. The good thing about Roger & Gallet fragrances is that they have become more widely available than they were before when you could only get them across the pond. If you prefer shopping in-store, you can find them in Marks and Spencer Stores (the larger stores), John Lewis and House of Fraser (Oxford Street is the only branch who I believe stock it for now). If you prefer shopping online, there are so many online retailers who stock it including  Dermacentre, M&S, House of Fraser, Escentual, etc

Personalising your Roger & Gallet in House of Fraser
Roger & Gallet can now be purchased from House of Fraser online and in-store (Oxford Street as far as I know). I have not been to the counter yet but I will be popping over tomorrow as I am at an event around the area. The exciting thing about their launch in House of Fraser is that you can get your Roger & Gallet fragrances personalised with your name/initials or maybe a loved one's name/initials. The bottle is already pretty but having my name or initials on it will just be absolutely incredible. I think it's only available for a limited time only so hurry up if you want it. I will fill you in with details on the service once I try it out tomorrow.

Overall Thoughts
I already mentioned that I am a huge fan of Roger & Gallet Fragrances and I think they are fantastic quality for the price they are sold. The good thing is you can always get discounts from the various retailers like M&S, Dermacentre and Escentual when they have their beautiful offers and that's when I stock up on my favourites!! Between Fleur D'Osmanthus and Bois D'Orange, I have to say the Bois D'Orange lasts longer. However, I do reach more for my Fleur D'Osmanthus because I think it captures Summer more for me and I reserve the Bois D'Orange for summer nights or days when I need something very vibrant. That's pretty much me for today. Have you tried the Roger & Gallet Fragrant Wellbeing Waters?

Summer Fragrance Collection

I love fragrances a lot and I love to switch them up depending on the season. I do have my default notes I go for as I prefer anything with Fig, Tuberose and Musk. I love woody and musky fragrances and I am also partial to fragrances with floral or citrus top notes. Yeah, I just love all kinds of fragrances but I gravitate towards woody/musky notes because I feel they are very sensual. However, I prefer to go for fruity and floral scents during Summer because I just feel it is more appropriate for the season. I love fragrances that are light, easy and breezy. Most of these fragrances may have been reviewed on here already so I would link their reviews where possible.

Jo Malone Fragrances (Lily of the Valley// Peony and Blush Suede)
Jo Malone is easily one of my favourite fragrance brands because the fragrances are really unique.  For Summer, I opt for really fresh and light Jo Malone Fragrances and I love mixing them together. The first one I have been loving this Summer (and also for Spring) is from a limited edition collection- Lily of the Valley (review here). It was from the Rock the Ages collection (now sold out) which was inspired from the various British Eras. I love this fragrance so much and I am really sad that it is limited edition. I am trying my best to make sure it lasts me at least through this year but I am not sure how I can manage. It reminds me of a nice floral garden where I just want to chill and not do anything. It's also very feminine and sensual but in a very subtle way. It's the kind of fragrance you want to wear when you are wearing a crisp white shirt with jeans and going for lunch with friends. I love it so much!!

The next favourite from Jo Malone is the Peony and Blush Suede// Link (review here) fragrance and I am so pleased it is not limited edition. It just smells divine and it's very tempting to just douse yourself in it. It's best to refrain from such because it is quite a pricey little perfume but I was lucky to be given this as a birthday gift from my friend. She knew I was obsessed with this fragrance and had it on my wish list for so long. It equally smells like a garden full of peonies and rose (no surprise) but it is not a sickening sweet fragrance at all. It just has the right amount of floral goodness that sets you in the right mood. I love to combine both the Peony and Blush Suede and Lily of the Valley and it's one of the best combinations I have done. I think mixing them even makes the fragrance last much longer than they do individually. If you like a light and fresh summer fragrance, I suggest trying out the Jo Malone Fragrances as they are amazing quality although they are pricey.

Miss Selfridge Beau Fragrance (EDP)// Link // £12
I have had this fragrance for a long while and I am glad it is finally making an appearance here on the blog. When I heard Miss Selfridge was launching a fragrance range, I was really interested in trying out at least one because they bottles looked so Parisian. However, I thought they would be too girly because Miss Selfridge is targeted at younger girls and ladies.. Don't get me wrong;  I still love their clothing despite this because they are really good quality and they cater to shorter girls like me :-). Anyway, I popped in store to get some tops on sale and I spied this in a gift set reduced to £7, I could not say no. How could I? I wish I had a picture of the actual gift set because it was stunning. It came with a vintage packaged powder along with this perfume. It was a dusty pink colour and the powder had a huge fluffy puff in it. The fragrance comes in 50 ml which is pretty standard for many perfumes. The bottle really looks quite expensive but it is really so affordable. I also thought I may not like the fragrance but I was pleasantly surprised about it. It is more of a citrus (fruity) fragrance but it settles into a woody/musky scent which I adore. The top notes are Pink Grapefruit, English pear and Raspberry Apple. The middle notes are Violet Absolute, Roe de Mai and Jasmine while its base notes are Vanilla Absolute, Cedarwood and White Musks. It's a really amazing mix of notes and it lasts for a really long time on me. I am really impressed with everything about this fragrance especially as it is an Eau de Parfum. If you want something slightly sweet and woody/musky for Summer, I suggest checking this out.

Zara Oriental Perfume (EDT)// Link // £7.99
I have mentioned this fragrance a few times and I always go back to it. I would not say it is a typical Summer Fragrance but it does remind me of being on holiday hence it qualifies as a Summer scent (in my head). As the name suggests, it has a musky oriental scent but I like that it is not too heavy. It just sits right with me and I always whip it out during Summer evenings or weekend evenings. It has Bergamot, Jasmine, Patchouli and Caramel notes which is a really unique mix. I don't think I have any fragrance that's similar to it at all. It just smells really unique and for an Eau de Toilet (EDT), I think the lasting power is really impressive. I like how simple and classic the bottle is and it just looks so elegant on my dresser. If you want an inexpensive fragrance that has an oriental/musky fragrance, I really suggest trying this out. It's very affordable for the quality you get. I actually got this in a gift set of two for only £13 which is an absolute steal. I gave the second fragrance (I think it was called Fruity) to my sister and she adores it.

Roger and Gallet Fleur de Figuier (EDP)*// Review// Link // £40.00
I have already spoken about the Roger and Gallet Fleur de Figuier here on the blog with its own review. It's one of my favourite Summer fragrances and I can't seem to put it down. It is also the longest lasting fragrance in my collection. The major ingredient used in this fragrance is Fig which is one of my favourites. It is a perfect Fruity and Woody/Musky fragrance and I love the way the notes interchange with each other. It's an Eau de Parfum so you can expect amazing quality and longevity from it. This is my all rounder fragrance for Summer. It goes well during the day and at night. It is perfect for everyday and weekend and it always sets me in a good mood. I can't rave enough about it because it is truly incredible.

Body Shop Italian Summer Fig // Link// £18
This is the newest fragrance from Body Shop which is the embodiment of Summer. I don't own it yet but it is definitely one to be purchased at some point. I am not even going to start telling you how much I love Fig because I have established that already. This fragrance is a softer fig fragrance that feels very feminine yet with character. I had the chance to test it out in store and I really liked it. The best part is the packaging is very different from the traditional Body Shop designs and I think this looks outstanding. It really does look and feel like an expensive fragrance and I think it is really good value for £18. The best part is there are quite a few fragrances from the range. My second favourite  is called the Indian Night Jasmine which smells incredible. I definitely need to pick this up next time. If you want a really nice light Summer fragrance, then I suggest trying them out in store so you can make a choice.

Overall Thoughts
That's pretty much all my favourite Summer Fragrances. I think there is something for everyone no matter what kind of notes or mixes you like. There is something for the girl who likes something light and fresh (Jo Malone and Body Shop Summer Collection), one for the girl who likes sweet and fruity notes (Miss Selfridge Beau), one for the girl who likes a light oriental/musky fragrance (Zara Oriental) and one for someone who adores fig/citrus and musk (Fleur de Figuier). There is also something for everyone's budget as well. I really recommend trying out the Zara and Miss Selfridge fragrances which are super affordable with impressionable quality. Now, it's your turn- What's your favourite Summer Fragrance?...xx

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier (EDP) Review

Let's just say I am slowly turning into a perfume/fragrance junkie and I am not ashamed to admit it. I remember last year, I had a sizeable collection of fragrances but this year that collection has doubled. An updated perfume collection will be up soon but I wanted to have some reviews of those fragrances first so it is not a super long post. I was lucky to be sent this lovely Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier EDP* and it is one fragrance I have absolutely enjoyed. Roger & Gallet are well known for their amazing fragrances used in their shower gels, body creams and body mists. They are one French brand that has always been quite close to home because they are stocked in Marks and Spencer and other online stores.  However, this is the first EDP they have ever produced so you can imagine my delight when I received this fragrance almost a month ago. I am not sure you may remember this post where I told you about its launch back in May. It was called the #distillinghappiness campaign where samples of this fragrance were given to people outside High Street Kensington Station along with bouquet of flowers. Sadly, I missed all the fun because I was away in Scotland but I heard it was such a lovely campaign and many people were surprised with bouquets of flowers.Who wouldn't be? I love flowers and I think getting one for free would definitely make anyone's day.

Fragrance Overview
As mentioned earlier, most of their other fragrances are mists (Eau de Toilet-EDT) so they are not quite as concentrated as EDP although they still smell amazing and last a good while compared to other EDTs. This fragrance was designed by Francis Kurkdijian and there is actually a whole video where he speaks about the process behind creating this amazing fragrance. I found this out by scanning the QR code at the side of the fragrance packaging and I thought it was pretty cool. I always scan QR codes when they are available on packages.

Packaging
I absolutely love this packaging because it screams Spring and Summer. It looks very feminine but in a classy "not in your face" way. The fragrance is housed in 50 ml Glass Flacon which is transparent (I think it may have pink hues to it) and it has some pink and purple flowers details on the label. The outer packaging is so pretty with the same pink and purple colour scheme going on.  I enjoy looking at it and I am seriously considering getting a small stand for all my fragrances especially ones with pretty packaging. I know people say it is not ideal to expose your fragrances to light but some bottles look too pretty to be hidden. The Fleur de Figuier is one you would definitely want to show off on your dresser as you can tell from the pictures.

Notes
You all know I am useless at expertly describing fragrances and notes so I would go by what the website says. The name Fleur de Figuier translates to Flower Pear (according to Google) and yes you guessed right, it has Fig as one of its notes. I am very partial to Fig, Tuberose, Patchouli and Musk because they are classy and sensual notes. I knew I would love this especially after I tried a sample in Marks and Spencer.  Its top notes are  precious essences of Mandarin and Peppercorn and of course, Candied Fig. I am not surprised at all because the first impression I got was a really fruity almost-citrus fragrance. Once it gets absorbed, you get the middles notes of Violet Wood and Fig Pulp and then it finally settles to its base notes of Musk, Patchouli and Fig Nectar. It is a really interesting fragrance and I love how the notes are expertly combined to give such an amazing scent.

Who is the Fragrance for?
I would definitely describe this fragrance as a sweet fruity fragrance which surprisingly settles into a sensual musky scent. If you are into fruity or sweet fragrances, you would definitely like the Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier. If you also like woody or musky fragrances, this is one fragrance you need to try. I am not overly enthusiastic about very sweet fragrances because I think they may be too girly but this one is so different because it is infused with Musk, Moss and Patchouli in its base notes. I think the typical age range for this fragrance spans across a wide range/spectrum. I think many ladies/girls/women would love this although I guess it depends on your scent preference. I am slightly inclined to think that its woody and musky base notes would make it more appealing to people in their late twenties and onward as opposed to younger ladies. However, as mentioned, I guess it all still boils down to preference and I don't see why any one can't wear any fragrance they like irrespective of their age range.

Cost// Link
I have seen several prices for this fragrance but they all start from £39.50 which I think is reasonable given the quality you get. I think its original RRP is £40.50 (as sold in Marks and Spencer and Escentual) but Feel Unique has it for £39.50. However, Escentual has 20% off everything on their website so it is a really good time to buy it if you were considering it. I know it is one I would definitely repurchase because I have absolutely enjoyed using it. I think it would be ideal for travelling especially if you are off to an exotic destination.

Overall Thoughts
I am so pleased I got a chance to try this lovely fragrance. One of the main reasons why it has been one of my top and most used scents is the longevity. OMG!! It really lasts a long time on my skin and I can still catch whiffs of it all through the day and at the end of the day. Many fragrances smell amazing but they fade through the course of the day. With the Fleur de Figuier, I have never had cause to re-spray at all. Once I use it in the morning, that's me done for the day. People always ask me what I am wearing because it is really impressionable but not in a strong way at all. It's just simply lovely and embodies what a true EDP should smell like. That's it folks!! I hope you had an amazing weekend and I would see you in my next post. Have you tried the Roger& Gallet Fleur de Figuier EDP?

Summer Fragrances/Scents

Hi Lovelies,
I hope everyone has had a nice weekend. I honestly don't know where the weekend goes some times. Anyway, thank you for all your love and support in my consecutive every day posting week. Today is Day 6 and I have one more day to go....heeehaaaa

I love fragrances and I am sure many ladies love to smell nice, feminine, demure and sexy. Summer reminds me of gardens, sun, flowers and blue skies and they all influence the choice of fragrance and perfume I go for. I find that I lean towards floral and fruity scents for day time and musky notes for night time. I am not really a fan of very strong fragrances but I love light fragrances that linger a little longer than normal. In this post, I am going to share with you some Fragrances and Mists I have been loving all summer.

Marc Jacob's Daisy Sunshine Limited Edition EDT 50 ml £36-£38
I have been enchanted for a long time with Marc Jacob's Daisy Collection perfumes because the fragrances are lovely and beautifully packaged. I love, love all the Daisy Collections. The Daisy Sunshine Limited Edition perfume was a gift from my lovely BF and I have already posted a blog post here about it. I love how summery and playful yet classy this scent makes me feel.

It's really hard to explain. Its top notes are made up of a mix of Guava, Mandarin and Sweet Red Currant which lends it its fruity scent while its heart tones are made up of a floral mix of  the lily of the valley, lychee and violet which helps creates a balance of a floral scent. When it is first sprayed, the first notes that hit you are the fruity ones which settle after a while to a mixture of the floral and fruity tones which finally settles to its slight base notes of blonde woods and musk which I absolutely love. I wear this mainly when I am going to work because it makes me feel classy in a summery way if that makes any sense..lol

The Zara Woman Fruity EDT 100 ml £9.99
I had been contemplating buying this perfume from Zara but I was not sure if it was worth the spend (not that it cost a fortune but you know, sometimes, I want to feel like I am money savvy). I eventually bought it and I am so glad I did. I am not sure why they are not as popular as I expected but I feel it is great value for such excellent quality. As the name depicts, it is a summery fruity scent which may be tipping over to being a little too fruity when you initially spray it. I , for one, don't mind at all because I love fruity and floral scents but I also know it settles to a subtle fruity scent.

Its Top notes are Citrus and Grapefruit as expected while its middle notes are Rose and its Base notes are Amber, Vanilla and Sandalwood which makes sense as those are the kind of notes you can tolerate long term if you don't like fruit/floral scents. I really like this perfume and it does have a fair wearing time which I did not expect seeing that it was an EDT. Don't be deceived by its price as it is actually a really nice fragrance that still lingers longer than you expect. This is my go-to fragrance for weekends and casual outings.

Yves Rocher Ming Shu EDP 30 ml £17
I am not sure this is a very popular perfume because I have only seen it being sold online. My former boss at work used to wear it and it smelt so nice and lasted all day. Of course, I was very curious and she showed me the cute little bottle and we started hunting it down. She received it as a gift so she had no idea where it was bought. Finally, we found it on Amazon, Ebay and the Yves Rocher website which is based in Paris, France. I fell in love instantly with this scent and my former boss was kind enough to gift me this perfume as a leaving-do present/gift. I was really pleased. This perfume smells really amazing and it lasts a long long time which is expected since it is an EDP not an EDT. I love anything French because they are so chic and classy just like French Women. The only downside to this is that it does not have a spray top/pump so you can only dab it on your wrists, earlobes, elbows or anywhere you fancy and you have to be very careful to prevent waste as the mouth/top opening is a little wider than expected.

This fragrance reminds me of the sea because I feel calm and relaxed whenever I wear it, again, I'm rubbish in describing scents. I would say it is a mixture of aquatic and floral scents which feels really light on application but lasts for a good time on your skin. Its Top notes are Marine Note and Pepper while its Mid notes are Nymphea Stellata and Ylang Ylang and its base notes are Sandalwood and Vanilla which I guess lends it its aquatic floral vibe. You can buy this on the Yves Rocher Website and they usually have so many juicy discounts. I prefer this for days when I have an evening outing to attend because it is a demure and sexy fragrance which is still very classy..My kind of fragrance.

That's it folks. I am sure you can tell I am a huge fan of floral/fruity and light musky scents. I am still open to try out other scents and fragrances to find out what my signature scent would be as I am yet to find one.

Sometimes, I am really naughty and I mix all these scents into a nice medley of fruits, flowers and musks which surprisingly is not bad..Hahaha..I am sure many of you are as naughty in mixing scents. I hope this post was helpful and I would love to know/read about your top summer fragrances/scent are in the comment box below.. See you in my next post...toodles..xxx
