New In- French Pharmacy Skincare (Escentual)

I have to say the Escentual Emails are one of the biggest enablers ever because there is a high chance I would click through and order (or just browse to see what’s new). There is always one discount or the other going in which is why it is difficult to resist. You can check out their current offers over here (Pssst... there is 20% off Makeup right now using the code MAKEUP20 at check out). They are my go-to online store for all my French Pharmacy Skincare purchases especially when they have their delightful 1/3rd off offers. There are some new launches that I thought I would share with you as I have tried them out already.

La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum*// Link // £19.90 (now £16.90)
I know this may be such a big claim but the La Roche Posay Hydraphase Serum is one of the most hydrating serums I have tried. I have reached for this serum way more than my other two favourite hydrating serums. La Roche Posay describe the Hydraphase Intense Serum as a replenishing, concentrated gel for dehydrated and sensitive skin. I find this description spot on because it provides an intense hydration that is maintained through the course of the day. It comes in a slim bottle which I love because it fits easily into my travel skincare bag.  It comes with a nice pump which allows easy dispensing and control of the product which I love. You can also unscrew the pump to see how much product you have inside as it is an opaque bottle so you can’t see through the bottle. I use this serum both in the day and night and it is such a delight to use. It is enriched with a highly concentrated blend of La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water in addition to Hyaluronic Acid which enhances its hydrating properties. Its texture is so different to any other serum I have tried. It feels like water but not quite as liquid as water. It absorbs so well into my skin but I still feel its hydrating effect through the course of the day. It is one of my winter skincare saviour as it provides the much needed hydrating my skin needs. If you are struggling to find a beautiful hydrating serum that provides a sustained amount of hydration all day, you need to check out the La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum. I would definitely check out other products within the range because I am obsessed.

Vichy Normaderm Anti-Blemish Care // Link // £14.50 (Full review)
I already spoke about the Normaderm Anti-Blemish Care which I got to try back in January so it's not entirely a new launch. I can't quite find a direct link to it on Escentual but this bottle was sent to me by Vichy.  However, I just thought to include it in this post as it is so worth checking out. I have a full review here if you want to read a more in-depth review. The Vichy Normaderm Anti- Blemish Care is targeted at women who still suffer from adult acne be it occasional or regular. It is very disheartening to still have breakouts when you are well past your teen and research shows that the number of women with adult acne is on the rise. I do suffer from the occasional adult acne especially during that time of the month. I also break out when I go crazy with my diet but I have quite a few products that prevent major mishaps. The Normaderm Anti Blemish Care promises to provide smoother skin even when it's that time of the month. I tried it out for two cycles and I was very impressed with the results. My breakouts were absent/very minimal and I know it is one I would continue incorporating in my skincare routine. I particularly love it because it has a demi-matte effect which makes it double as a primer and base for my makeup. Of course, it s non-comedogenic so it can be used under my makeup and won't break me out. I can't fault it at all and if you are in search of something new to halt any unsightly breakouts, I would highly recommend giving this a try.

Bioderma Micellar Water Wipes*// Link// £7.00
This was one product that everyone was expecting to see sooner than later. I am so glad Bioderma listened to customer feedback and developed these Micellar Water Wipes. I am a huge fan of the Bioderma Micellar Water and I have a little collection of them. I shared a full review here and they also featured on my Micellar Water round up post here. They are one of the best micellar waters out there and I am so glad they are easy to get hold of now in the UK. I was really pleased to get a chance to trial the Bioderma Micellar Water Wipes to see how effective they were.  I prefer makeup wipes as my initial makeup removal choice before I do my proper cleanse especially during summer. I still love to use a cleansing oil but wipes are sometimes faster. The Bioderma Micellar Water Wipes comes in a standard wipe packet but it’s a pretty fuchsia pink shade that really stands out. Inside the pack, you get 25 wipes which is pretty regular for most makeup wipes. It has a resealable seal at the top which I don’t mind as my wipes were still moist and fresh despite opening and closing many times.  I know some people prefer plastic seals (and those are cute) but I am quite indifferent to them.

I like that the wipes have the right amount of moisture as they are not too wet (I am not a fan of very wet wipes) or too dry (the worst kind in my opinion). It is smooth on both sides and it does not feel scratchy on the face. I can tell you one thing for sure; you only need one wipe to take off all your makeup. Yes, you heard right. It’s one of the few wipes that I have used that appears to keep giving as I use it. It’s quite surprising  as it does not seem to dry out as I use it despite not being the wettest wipes I have tried. As a combination oily skin girl,  I am pleased with the moisture levels of the wipes and how effective they are. After use, my face feel ever so slightly dry but it’s not a worry for me as I go ahead and continue my full cleansing routine.  Honestly, I did not expect much from it but it is really effective. I guess they definitely used the same formula as the Bioderma Water. I have to say I am very impressed and would repurchase once I run out. It’s a little pricier than other regular makeup wipes but you use less wipes (only 1 is enough) so I guess it is worth it. If you are out travelling or camping, this would be the closest to using a micellar water to remove your makeup. It's worth checking out if you are on the haunt for an excellent makeup remover wipe.

Overall Thoughts
I am really impressed with these new launches and I just feel that French Pharmacy Skincare can never really fail me. They are just amazing from their packaging down to the effectiveness of the products. I always buy majority of  French Skincare products from Escentual because they offer an amazing service and mouth watering discounts. They always seem to have one form of discount going on  so you never really have to pay full price. I always go nuts when they do their 1/3 off French Skincare Pharmacy products and get back ups for all my favourite products. You can check out some of their offers here. That's pretty much it. Have you tried any of these new launches?

  1. I love french skin care, i'm currently using a Vichy serum, which i'm coming to the end of. So i'm definitely going to check out the La Roche one. The wipes sound great to. I know its bad, but i prefer to use wipes to remove my eye makeup - so the wipes sound like the best of both worlds! Thanks for sharing :) xx

    1. I totally get you with using makeup wipes because sometimes one can be really tired. It's still better than not taking your makeup off at all. I am also a big fan of the Vichy Serum but I think this LRP Hydraphase is incredible and worth trying out...xx

  2. I really want to try the micellar wipes! In general I think face wipes are the devil's work but sometimes you're travelling, coming in after a night out and you just need a face wipe lol. However I'd rather get some good ones infused with micellar water :) I've not heard of the Vichy Anti-Blemish Care but it sounds perfect for me. I need to do an order...xx

    1. You are absolutely right. As much as I love to take off my makeup and cleanse my skin every night, I have come back a few nights so knackered that my Face Wipes were the only skincare step I could manage. You would really like the Vichy Anti Blemish Care...xx
