October 2015 Favourites

I think this may have been the latest I have put up any Monthly Favourites post on the blog. I do hope you all don't mind and enjoy this post.  Majority of my favourite products in October were mainly skincare products. I have a few makeup products that I have been loving but my routine has not changed largely. I do foresee November Favourites being one full of makeup because I have been hauling…let’s get started.

P.S. I had no idea it was a super long post until I finished typing it... What is wrong with me though?!!! I can't stop typing especially when I am excited. I type very, very, very fast and I should be a typist for real...hope you enjoy it still.  I also filmed a video if you prefer watching videos as opposed reading blog post. Here is a direct link to the video and it is also embedded above. It would be amazing if you subscribed to my channel here and do say hi as well!! Right let's get into the flow...

FOREO Day Cleanser *//£25 // Link
I was kindly invited to a FOREO event back in September where they showed us some new products they were launching. One of them was the FOREO Day Cleanser* and it has quickly shot up to become my favourite morning cleanser. It is enriched with Bergamot and Probiotics and I love the way it makes my skin feel in the morning. I find it really effective as a day cleanser because it removes any product residue and sweat from the night. I use it with my FOREO Luna* and they are an amazing duo. The texture feels like whipped yoghurt/cream and it just feels really good to have it massaged on my skin every morning. I feel very refreshed any time I use it and I love it a lot!!

FOREO Iris Eye Massager*// £99 // Link
I was also kindly gifted this lovely FOREO Iris Eye Massager* at the event and I have been so impressed with it. I know it may look like it does not do much but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. It is designed as an eye massager to help smooth out the under eye area and prevent any fine lines/wrinkles. It can be used with or without an eye cream which  is amazing. It feels very similar to the tapping motion of a finger which is the right way to apply an eye cream. I was a little concerned that it may drag across my eyes but it has not done so at all. It feels very gentle around my eye area. I have also used it to massage all round my cleansed face and it just feels very relaxing!! It is quite pricey but I do really enjoy using it and I am so glad I got a chance to try it out.

Elemental Herbology Vital Glow*// £55// Link
The first thing that caught my attention was the ingredients list. I am sure everyone knows how effective AHAs and Retinols are for exfoliating the skin, encouraging cell turnover and giving a nice flow to the skin. However, there are very few products that combine these powerful ingredients in one stable formula. I was really delighted to receive this to try and I have absolutely enjoyed (and still enjoying it). It has a very rich texture which is why it is an overnight resurfacing cream. I have some really annoying hyper pigmentation on my cheeks (which has been clearing over time) and this night cream has been very instrumental in clearing it. It goes on smoothly despite its rich texture, gets absorbed well but you know it is there. In the morning, I always wake up to such a lovely glow to my face which I love. I would have a full review soon on this product because it really does deserve its own.

Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant*//
Last month I featured my all time favourite toner from Biologique Recherche and I am back with yet another favourite. This time around it is the Masque Vivant which I absolutely love. It’s only a little sample (I received a few samples) from when I was kindly invited for an epic Bespoke Facial*by Biologique Recherche back in August. Although it is little, I have got so much use form it because it sure goes a long way. This is one of the few masks I own that works immediately and leaves my skin so smooth, refreshed and ready to take on the world. It smells very, very terrible but I can’t actually believe that the smell has grown on me. I can’t even believe I am actually going to type that I don’t mind the smell any more. It smells exactly like Marmite but a little worse, however, I am more than willing to endure for the results I get. I took it with me when I travelled on my City Breaks and it prevented my skin from going crazy from all the crap I was eating. I have an upcoming review of all the BR products I have been testing so I would add more details then. If you suffer from problematic/blemish prone skin, you need to add this to your list asap!!

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate// £59 // Link
You may have already read my Boots Clearance Haul Post where this precious baby made its first debut. I  may have let out a little squeal in the Boots store when I saw this in the clearance for only £30 for 30 ml. Say What?!! I personally think the ladies who work in Boots are super good. If I worked there, I assure you that these kind of products will never make it to the clearance because I will purchase them for myself. Anyway, I am glad they have such amazing self control. It's not a new product to me because I have tried several samples and I am absolutely obsessed with it. It keeps my skin very hydrated, supple and plump and its effects last all day. If you can't afford it and you are searching for a similar budget friendly product, I would highly recommend the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum* which is absolutely amazing and works in a very similar way.

Dudu Osun Soap// from £1 //Review
I won’t ramble too much about this old favourite of mine because I have a full review here. It is another product that I always have in my stash because it absolutely works for my skin. It removes my makeup like no other and leaves my skin feeling clean (although quite stripped). My acne and spot are kept to the barest minimum because of this soap. I even travelled with it to show you how important it is to me. I don’t mind using other cleansers with it because it could feel a little harsh or stripping sometimes but it is a staple in my stash. My mum always sends me loads of them because she knows my obsession with this soap. I would have added a link but I heard there are many fake Dudu Osun soaps in circulation. My mum buys from the wholesalers and sends them to me so I have never had cause to purchase from any online links. I heard you can find them in Amazon but I can't vouch for any sellers hence no link. Sorry!!

Essence I love Stage Eye Primer// £2.50 // Wilko
This is not new at all as I have featured it on here in the past. Again, it is an old favourite that I forgot because I was obsessed with the Laura Mercier Eye Canvas (which I still use). However, my eye lids needed a primer that was creamy and nourishing especially now that the weather had changed. I remembered it was hiding somewhere in my Muji drawers and I whipped it out. It has not left my side (or eyes) since then. It is inexpensive, effective and very easy to use. I just use the doe foot applicator and apply a little amount. You don’t need a lot at all and I blend it in with my fingers. It helps my eyeshadow apply so much easier and last longer with no creasing. The creamy shade means any discolouration on my eye lids are well masked!! I love it!!

By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadow// £29 // Link // Review
Of course, it was inevitable that these were going to make it into my favourites. Seriously, my entire By Terry collection can comfortable sit in my favourites all year long because I am obsessed with them. The Ombre Blackstars need no introduction because they are a firm favourite in the beauty and blogger world. They are easily the best I have tried!! They come in a variety of shades but the ones I have been loving in October include Misty Rock (5), Bronze Moon(4) and Beyond Gold(11). I still greedily want to purchase more because they are so lovely. They apply and blend like a dream and they last all day. I have not experienced any creasing with them at all!!! It’s just love all the way.

L.A. Girl Pro Concealer// From £3 // Link // Review
I told you guys I have been loving the same things over and over again!! The L.A. Girl Pro Concealers are definitely one of the best drug store concealers out there. Their shade range is also rather impressive for a drug store brand and I adore them. My favourite shade is Fawn which is perfect for concealing my dark blemishes. It lasts all day and my blemishes stay hidden until I get back home. I love them so much!! I also use Cool Tan to highlight and I do like it although it is slightly too thick for every day highlighting for me. It is really difficult not to find a shade that suits you as there is a wide range to suit many skin tones.

Maybelline Eye Studio Eyeshadow// £1 // Poundland
These two eye shadows completely took me by surprise because I just picked them up from Pound Land (£1 shops). I did not think I would love them as much as I do!! Now, I went back to buy more but of course, they were completely sold out!! I have two shades; Burning Blaze and Iced Fudge which are perfect neutral shades but with a metallic finish (somewhat). On their own, I don't think they are as fantastic as when you use a base (such as the Maybelline Color Tattoos under). I love the results I get with them and I have tried them with other bases which work in a similar amazing way. they are worth a try if you find them.

Overall Thoughts
I hope you enjoyed this super long post as always. I am working on other posts for this week and I hope I am able to get them out. I could never imagine I would ever be this busy but I really am. I already mentioned I am back at Uni (two days a week but it's full time-weird I know) and it has been so crazily busy. I have had three exams (not even tests) so far and I have two planned this Friday so it's my studies all the way. I won't neglect this blog at all as I have some posts planned. Hope you have an amazing week!! What was your absolute favourite beauty product in October?

  2. What a wonderful start of my Monday by watching your video!!
You can't get away that easily though with the soap tho. Is it only made in Nigeria? What I'd it made of? You can't just say it's so good, but you can't find it nowhere, guys. You need to import some here xx
