Gentle Cleansers for Morning Skincare Routine

I don't know about you but I prefer to use really gentle cleansers in the morning for many reasons. The main reason being that they make my skin feel fresh, awake and prepared for the day. I do tend to use exfoliating cleansers in the evening to cleanse my skin after a long day outside but that's another discussion for another day.

Many of these cleansers are designed as gentle makeup removers but I think they work amazing as regular cleansers. I always take my makeup off and cleanse my skin thoroughly every night  so I don't think I need to do too much in the morning (worst case I would use a wipe or micellar water on very, very rare ocassions). In the mornings, I aim to just get rid of any sweat, oils or products from the night before.  All the cleansers featured here are budget friendly, effective and yet gentle and I thought they all deserved a little mention.

Cetaphil Cleanser for Normal/Oily Skin // from £8.35 // Link // Mini Review
This is one of my favourite cleansers for mornings especially if my skin has been playing up. It's really gentle and perfect for my combination oily skin. I also love the way it goes on smoothly and it provides a good cleanse for my face. It does not leave my skin feeling stripped of its natural oils at all which is why I love it. I always whip it out any time I have any breakouts especially hormonal ones. It soothes my skin and does not aggravate my spots/breakouts (when they show their ugly faces). I really recommend it and many dermatolgists recommend it as well because it is non comedogenic. I think they also have other versions for other skin types but I opted for the one for Normal/Combination-Oily skin. It's definitely one to try if you have used cleansers in the past that annoyed your breakouts as this cleanser won't do that at all.

La Roche Posay Physioligical Cleansing Gel*// £12 // Link // Review
I mentioned this in one of my favourite posts and it's with good reason. It is indeed one of the gentlest cleansers I have ever used. It has a nice creamy texture which is not too thick or too light; it just feels perfect on my skin. It works well as a makeup remover but I prefer it as a gentle cleanser because it leaves my skin feeling very smooth. I am not sure what exactly it contains that makes my skin feel this way but I love it. It is also easy to rinse off and it does not leave my skin feeling stripped at all. It's really gentle and perfect for anyone who has sensitive skin. It also does not contain parabens, perfumes, fragrance, etc and I love it!!

Vichy Purete Thermal 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser *// £11 // Link // Review (coming soon)
This is a relatively new cleanser to me as I have only used it only around week but I can already tell we would get on well. It reminds me of the Lancome Galatee Confort (Cleansing Milk) and I am not surprised as Vichy and Lancome  are both owned by L'Oreal. Anyway, this cleanser is more like a cleansing milk as opposed to a regular cleanser. I use it on days when I have very little time to waste in the morning. I have tried using it in two ways which work well. The first way is using a cotton pad and swiping it across my face (normal way according to the instructions on the package). The second way is to apply it as a regular cleanser to my wet face and massage it in. It does not have so much lather as expected from a cleansing milk but it leaves my skin really, really soft and moisturised. I think this is because it is designed to be a cleanser, makeup remover and toner so there is no chance of it leaving my skin stripped at all. I really recommend this for ladies who are really busy and don't have time for an extensive /long skin care routine in the morning.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cleanser// £4.69 // Link // Review
This is the cleanser I use when I need to feel awake and revitalised. You know there are some mornings that it's super difficult to drag yourself out of the bed and you need something to ginger you up. Well, this is the cleanser that does it for me. It contains Pink Grapefruit as the name suggests and it provides such a zesty energising cleanse. The one reason I like it is that it still feels super gentle and has a good lather to my skin. It leaves my skin ever so slightly stripped but I would not have noticed if I had not used the other cleansers above. However, it is just a very slight strip that you probably will not notice at all so it's not much of a problem. It also contains Salicylic Acid so it is perfect for anyone who is suffering from acne or breakouts because salicylic acid has the ability to penetrate into the pores and get rid of any nasties.  I love this cleanser a lot and the new packaging makes me very excited.

Overall Thoughts
I love all these cleansers and they are all pretty affordable. The best part is they all come in large bottles which means they would last for such a long time. I am already half way through the La Roche Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel because I love it so much and I just can't put it down. I tend to use them all on a rota depending on how my skin is feeling. That's it folks!! I hope you enjoyed this little round up of my favourite cleansers for my morning skin routine. I am keen to know if you have tried any of these products and do let me know what your favourite cleanser is. xx

  1. I think cleansers are quite a difficult one to find, especially the ones that need to be tailored to your skin. I do love the Neutrogena one, it smells divine! :)
