Mini Lipsticks and Lipglosses Collection

I was recently going through my makeup stash and I realised that I have a thing for mini lipsticks and mini lip glosses. I just love to collect them because they are possibly one of the cutest makeup items ever created (along with mini mascaras). I hardly ever finish full size lipsticks so I am beginning to think minis are the way to go. I actually wish more brands would create mini lipsticks that are inexpensive so one can try them out before taking the plunge. I really want to try the Tom Ford Lips and Boys mini but they are super expensive!!! Some of these lip products were free with Magazines, free via a new launch or Gift with Purchase (GWP). One or two were actually bought (The By Terry ones are full size although they look like minis). One theme you would  find in this post is that I love having a nude shade and a bold shade!!  Right, let's get started...

By Terry Rouge Velvet //£30 // Link
I thought I might as well start from the most expensive lip product which is actually a liquid lipstick (one of the best I have tried). I still stagger at how expensive these Rouge Velvets are but I have to say they are absolutely worth it. I purchased two shades I knew I would get the most use out of- A Nude Shade (Pause Cappuccino 02) and A Bold Shade (My Red 09). I used the Pause Cappuccino this morning (btw I use it most mornings) and I realised it is almost on its last legs. I definitely would repurchase (when I rack up Space NK points). It is one of the best shades for my lips and the lasting power is so beautiful. The My Red is also fantastic but I use it more during the weekends because it is quite a bold shade. I already mentioned that the My Red transfers slightly but now I just pat it with some setting powder and that really helps.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipgloss // £15 (full size) // Link
I purchased this duo discounted in the sales from £16.50 to £11 (not a huge discount but it's better than nothing) in Debenhams and I am so pleased I got my little mitts on it. I really like Urban Decay products and I am beginning to expand my collection. Inside this cute lip gloss set, you get two products- Anarchy (the pink shade) and Liar (the nude shade). I had actually never read about this lipglosses so I tried them with an open mind. They have a really lovely formula that sits well on my lips. The lasting power is really impressive and surprisingly, the nude shade (Liar) lasts really well on my lips. I am not a huge fan of sticky lipglosses so I was a little apprehensive about these lipglosses. However, I am quite pleased with the formula. I still feels ever so slightly sticky but it's not very noticeable at all (except you are looking out for it like me).

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipgloss //£23 (full size) //Link
I got this along with the Estee Lauder Color Portfolio which I picked up in the sales (check out my boxing day sales post here). I have tried Estee Lauder Lipsticks in the past so I was pleased to try out the lipglosses. Inside the kit, I got two shades- Praline Paradise (the nudey one) and Plum Divine (bold shade). These shades are super flattering on my skin tone and I really enjoy wearing them. They do feel sticky on application (well, they are glosses, aren't they?) but the stickiness wears off over time to my delight. The Praline Paradise is perfect for days when I don't want to make an effort but still look put together and amazing for everyday wear. The Plum Divine is very flattering on my complexion and I love it for Winter.

Clinique Pop Lipsticks// £16 (full size)// Link
This was a free gift with the December 2015 Elle Magazine (the Issue with Tanya Burr on the Cover). I love when brands include generous magazine freebies and I am always buying more than one issue of such magazines. There were two shades of these Pop Lipsticks- Nude Pop and Cherry Pop. They have one of the best formulas I have tried and I am seriously considering buying a few full sizes. They glide easily on the lips, last a good while and the packaging is so beautiful. They are really dinky and I love popping them out from my makeup bag for a quick touch up. Cherry Pop is my absolute favourite from the range and I would have to get other bolder shades in full sizes as they look stunning.

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks//£23.50 (full size)// Link
I can't find any cute picture of these lipsticks but they are the ones on the far left. My absolute favourite brand for super generous gifts with purchases has to be Lancome. All the times I have made purchases, I have been gifted with the cutest Gifts with Purchases which are perfect for travelling. I also like that their sizes are generous. I have lost count of how many of these cute L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks I have but they are one of my faves. The formula is superb and it feels very moisturising on my lips. I forget it is actually on my lips until I catch a glance of my reflection in the lift mirror and I am like ""ooh yeah, look at that cute lipcolour!" (very vain, I know). I have tons of the shade 06 (Rose Nu) but I was delighted to finally get a red shade (can't remember the number) but I love it. I never want this to finish because it is a flattering red for my complexion.

Burberry Kisses Lipstick //£25 (full size) // Link
I believe this is my only Burberry makeup product and I really like it. I remember when it was launched last year and a friend could nominate you to get a free sample. I thought that was an amazing campaign and I wanted to try a darker shade but sadly, they had run out and I received the Nude Pink (05) instead. It has a beautiful formula as you would expect from anything high end like Burberry. It can be used lightly for a sheer wash of colour or built up for a proper colour. I really like it but I don't use it as often as I should. The packaging is also really luxe and I love the effort they put behind the campaign!!

Overall Thoughts
That's pretty much my entire little collection of cute lipsticks and glosses. I forgot to mention my lovely NARS Lip pencils but they have been featured already. I hope you enjoyed this round up and do let me know if you love cute minis like me or prefer the full size. What's your favourite Lipstick or Lipgloss?

Perfect Nude Lipstick Combination

I am a big lover of nude lipsticks but not actual nudey nudes; I prefer more of a pinkish brown nude which is more flattering for me. I have been wearing this lip combination since this month and I absolutely love it. To achieve this very simple look, I use three lip products. They are very complimentary colours and when I am done, it looks like I don't have anything on my lips. It's the typical "my lips but better" look.

                                                                        Products Used
MAC Cork Lip Pencil: This is my second ever MAC Lip Pencil and I love it. I use it most of the time to line my lips because it is a perfect match for my skin tone. It's a medium-dark brown colour which ensures majority of my lipsticks are wearable.
MAC Shy Girl Lipstick: I don't think I have actually featured this properly on this blog and that's such a shame because it's really amazing. I have to say I wasn't wearing it as much because I didn't like how it looked on my lips. I just didn't know how to work with it but now it's much better and I find myself reaching for it more often. It's a warm nude shade with hints of peach but it's really lovely once you learn how to work with it. I always line my lips before using this and its cremesheen finish makes it really easy to apply.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Coffee Kiss: I recently posted a review of this lip gloss and it is definitely one of my current favourites. It's a brownish  pink nude lip gloss which is perfect for those days when you want to look simple and natural. It also has a really lovely non-sticky formula.

                                                  Application/How I use the products
I start off with priming my lips with the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm (the night before) to ensure my lips are smooth and soft. The next morning, I apply my favourite Lip Liner- MAC Cork which is essentially a brown lip liner that does wonders for my lips. Once my  lips are lightly lined, I go in with my MAC Shy Girl Lipstick. I go over my lips a few times because sometimes the initial layer looks too light but a second layer does the trick. The last product is the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Coffee Kiss (630) which is the icing on the cake. I don’t really need to add this but I find that it locks in the lipstick and helps it last much longer.

I wear this lip combination so much and it’s currently my go-to lip combination especially when I have bolder eyeshadows on my eyes. I never really like pairing bold eye colours with bold lips; I choose one and I usually go for bold eyeshadow and keep my lips simple. Sometimes, I substitute MAC Shy Girl with MAC Velvet Teddy (review here) or any Dupes (review here) and it still looks amazing but it’s not as nude. Ignore my tired face in this picture; I had a super long day :-). That's pretty much it. What is your favourite/current lip combination? See you in my next post...xx

The Lip Product Addict Tag and Lipstick Tag

Fun Fact: I hated wearing lipsticks when I was younger (but old enough to be wearing Lipsticks, FYI) because they made my lips feel uncomfortable and greasy...lol don't ask me what lipsticks I was trying out. Anyway, it all changed when my lovely Mum bought me my first High End Lipstick- Clinique's Rosette and I was completely in love and it did not make my lips greasy at all...Now, I just love lipsticks although I still stick to very nude and neutral colours but once in a while I go a lil bit cray cray with bright colours.  I love reading tags because I feel it sheds more light to people's personality and mainly because I am plain nosy. Both the Lipstick Tag and the Lip Product Tags have been floating around for a little while and I decided to do both of them because I loved the questions and why not. I am not sure who created the Lipstick Tag but British Based Bloggers Amelia Liana and EssieButton created The Lip Product Addict Tag. First off, I need to apologise about the photos. I took them all one evening after work because I just felt like which meant  the lighting was not the best and the true colours of these lipsticks may not be reflected in these pictures but then again, this is not a review, it's a tag. I tag everyone who has not done this and if you have already, leave your link below so I can check it out...Let's dive in...

                                                      THE LIPSTICK TAG

How many Lipsticks do you own?
I recently did a clear out of my old lipsticks which I was not using because there is no point holding on to them. I never considered myself as someone who owned quite a number of lipsticks and on counting them. I have a total of 40 Lipsticks which I think is ridiculous. I know a lot of beauty bloggers have much more than that but still, I am quite surprised and this is excluding Lip Glosses and Lip Balms and any other lip products.

What was the first Lipstick you owned?
I already answered his in the Intro. But yeah, my first proper lipstick (which I could actually wear)  was the Clinique's Lipstick in  Rosette which came in a nice gift set from my lovely mum. I still have it in my collection as you can see but I don't use it any more :-) but it is still very special to me. I actually popped into Clinique to ask if they still had it but they did not which is super sad because it was a nice shade and suited my skin tone.

What is your favourite lipstick brand?
Based on all the lipsticks I have tried, I would have to give it to MAC because I love the wide variety of shades they offer especially for women of colour. I think it's the most affordable lipstick with good quality although the way their prices are slowly creeping up is a bit annoying. I still remember their lipsticks used to be between £10-12 and now, you would be lucky to get it for £15 as I think a few of them are not £15.50. Blimey!!

What is your most worn Lipstick?
My most worn lipstick is usually my newest ones or a newest nude one and I usually rotate and go through phases.I was going to say MAC but I realise my  most worn lipstick for the longest period has to the L'Oreal Collection Privee and the Eva Longoria Shade was/is still one of my favourite shades. MAC is the next on the list and I am currently loving MAC's Spirit (It used to be Hug Me before that ran out)

What is your Favourite Lipstick Finish?
My Favourite Finish is Lustre. I love my lips feeling moisturised but not shiny. I am not a very big fan of Matte Lipsticks at all but I own a few and I try to exfoliate and moisturise my lips really well whenever I wear them. I also like Amplified finishes when I am out in the evening because it just lasts longer.

What was the last Lipstick you bought?
Last Lipstick I purchased was MAC's Lovelorn which I am a little obsessed with now for summer. I also got my MAC Ruby Woo again via Back to MAC. I have been wearing MAC's Love Lorn which was featured in my MAC Haul and I really like it.

How many Lip products do you currently have in your bag?
I change my lipsticks every day so I only pop the one I just applied in the morning in my makeup bag for the day and it's usually a nude or neutral shade. However, I also have a bright lipstick which I leave in my makeup bag in case I need to go out after work or I just want to lift my mood (sometimes, a bright lipstick can do little wonders to a somewhat dull face). Permanently in my Makeup Bag  are: Kuddy Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Smoothie, Korres Lip Balm in Jasmine, MAC's Spirit (Nude) and MAC's Girl About Town (Bright/Popping Shade). I also have the cutest littlest Bobbi Brown Lip gloss which I got as a sample from the Bobbi Brown Counter. In total, that is about 5 lip products.

What is your favourite red lip colour?
I was going to say MAC's Ruby Woo but due to its matte nature, it's not one I reach for often. My favourite red lip colour is surprisingly is Avon's Really Rosy and I find that it's a really nice Red that complements my skin tone.

How do you store your Lipsticks?
I store them in an Acrylic Storage Kit which I can't remember where I bought it from but I think it may have been from Amazon. Formerly, I stored them in one of my Muji Acrylic Drawers which I am a little obsessed with but I changed it because I preferred to have them out on display so I can see what I have and use them as much as possible as there is no use having lipsticks you never use, is there?

Which Lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
Don't even get me started on this because I have a lot of lipsticks I want especially from MAC and they include Lady Danger, Syrup, Diva, Patissere, and the new Kelly and Sharon Osborne range lipsticks. More importantly, I have been wanting to try Tom Ford Lipstick because the packaging is so lush and I have read many good reviews about it. I am currently lusting after Tom Ford's Spanish Pink which I just love its packaging and shade. Ultimately, I want to try Chanel Lipsticks which are just so beautiful..

                                            LIP PRODUCT ADDICT TAG

                                  What is your favourite Balm/Treatment?
Without doubt it would have to be Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm because it is the most nourishing lip balm ever which has been hyped and re-hyped in the beauty and blogging world and it is so worth it. I mean who would not like a mixture of Honey, Shea Butter and Grapefruit? It instantly soothes and sorts out any dry/chapped lips and although it feels a little heavy initially, it gets absorbed really well and easily. I treat my lips by exfoliating with my Lush Lip Scrub in Popcorn and use the Nuxe Reve de Miel. Korres Lip Balm is left in my makeup bag because it is lighter in texture and packaging than the Nuxe.

                                              Best Eye Catching Red?
I have to give this to MAC's Ruby Woo because it one lipstick that would definitely make you stand out apart from the fact that Red is one shade that requires confidence to pull off but Ruby Woo's shade suits many skin tones and it looks very flattering. The only snag is how drying it could be on application and during the day as you wear it, asides that, it's absolutely fab.

Best Luxury and Best Drug Store Lipstick
I don't own many high end lipsticks as such but my favourite High End one is Lancome's L'Absolu Rouge 06 and I have more than 6 samples of this because they always give this out in the Lancome Counters as part of Gifts with Purchases and they are one of the most beautiful lipsticks I own. Even the sample packaging looks lovely with the Lancome characteristic flower/rose. It's a true Warm Pink Rose shade which looks so flattering. For Drug Store, my favourite has to be L'Oreal Paris Lipsticks especially the Color Riche range which is very good quality and I love 179 Cherry Tulle and the packaging is just pretty.

                                                          Best MAC Lipstick?
Ohhh Ohhh, I didn't see this one coming and it's pretty hard for me to pick, not that I have a huge collection of MAC lipsticks or anything of the sort but I really like the few ones I own. I would have to give it to Vegas Volt because it is one shade that is versatile and can be worn even to work for me. Generally, I stay away from bright lipsticks because of the nature of my full time job but Vegas Volt is one that still looks lovely, bright and still classy/professional. It's a peach toned lipstick and I love it!

                                                The Most Disappointing?
This is not really a Lipstick but a Lip balm and that's the Maybelline Baby Lips which was hyped everywhere and I wanted to try it. I like the girly packaging and it does the job but I doubt if it lived to my total expectation even though it's okay but I had really high hopes and it just seemed to me like a normal lip balm after I had used it for a while. It's nothing to moan about because it was not expensive but still...:-|

                                                             Liner-Yes or No?
Absolutely Yes if there is a sentence like that. I have never not lined my lips because I just feel it looks much better especially with nude lipsticks. I use an unknown brand which I purchased from PAKS Cosmetics and it is amazing and cheap which is a combination I like. It fits perfectly with my skin tone and has made many unbearable lipsticks easy to wear. I am looking to try MAC's Cork Lip Liner as well.

                                                            Best Gloss
I am going to cheat and choose two because they both make me very happy. First is the Jemma Kidd High Gloss Lip Gloss in Coral 15 which I think may have been discontinued which is a big shame because it is so amazing and it doubles as lip gloss and a lip tint. Second is the Kuddy Cosmetics Lipgloss in Smoothie which I received from Kuddy Cosmetics and it is amazing!!

                                                        Something Extra
I recently bit the bullet and bough the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Lip Gloss in Peach Pink (longest name ever). I generally stay away from anything matte but this is so different. It is matte granted but it does not dry out my lips at all and most importantly, it is ever so long lasting and you have to take it off with a makeup remover. It does not matter if you eat or drink, this matte lip gloss is going nowhere and I think it deserves its own review...Hope you enjoyed this tag and See you in my next post..Have a lovely weekend..x

L'Oreal Privee Collection Lipstick

When the L'Oreal Privee Collection was launched, I really wanted to try it but I just never got around to it until sometime in March (which seems like a long time now). I was in Sainsbury's as usual picking up some grocery and looking out for some offers in their beauty, skincare and makeup section as I always do. The L'Oreal Privee Lipstick Collection was on offer for 3 for 2 and I thought I might as well give this a try. The Privee Collection (or is it Collection Privee??) is a nude lipstick collection which spans a range of skin tones and complexions that match various women from all walks of life. L'Oreal decided to use famous actresses, singers and models for its campaign and these stunning women include Cheryl Cole, Julianne Moore, Liya Kebede, Doutzen Kroes, Jennifer Lopez (J-Lo), Eva Longoria and Frieda Pinto. The shades were designed to match their nude lip colour which is an interesting concept. These lipsticks are all named after the relevant actress/model/singer complete with their signature on the packaging.  All the shades were available except the Doutzen Kroes, Jennifer Lopez(I heard it's only available in the US) and the Liya Kebede shade which I really wanted to try because that would have been the closest for my skin tone. However, I picked up the following shades: Eva (Longoria), Frieda (Pinto) and Julianne (Moore) and while I knew all the shades were not going to be a good nude match, I felt the shades will still look nice and flattering. Plus, it was on offer and picking up 1 would just be a waste :-) (that's what I told myself).

Shades
Eva's Nude: I think this is my favourite because it is the perfect shade of  flesh pink with earth/warm undertones. It comes off quite flattering on my lips and I reach for this more than the others.
Julianne's Nude: This has more of a bright pink hue to it but it still looks good on the lips especially if you have fairer skin. I was scared this would look unflattering but it's actually nice especially for Spring/Summer.
Frieda's Nude: I had high hopes for this as well because she was the nearest to my skin tone from the whole lot but I don't really like it as much as the other. It has a very slight lilac tint to it which may look flattering for other skin tones but it just fell flat on mine. I still like it paired with other lipsticks or even some from this range so it's not completely a waste :-)

Packaging
I am not even going to lie; I really wanted this because the packaging is adorable and classy (my fav word). It feels a whole lot more expensive than it looks and it has a nice secure click which I love because it means the lipstick is secure and it would not make a mess in your bag. Black packaging with gold rims and detailing just looks...oh so lush!!!

Formula/Application
I am so pleased it is more of lustre finish.. I was scared it would be one of those that would drag across the lips like MAC Ruby Woo style but thank goodness! it's not. It also does not cling to dry patches or rough patches on the lips assuming your lips have not been well exfoliated. If your lips are well smooth and freshly scrubbed /exfoliated to get rid of dry and rough cracks/patches, the experience with this lipstick will be heightened. Having said that, not all the shades seem to have the same consistency but maybe that's just me. They all really apply well and I have not had any trouble with its application. You need a lip liner with these shades which matches your skin tone especially for the brighter ones just so it blends properly.

Lasting Power
Although it has good pigmentation for a nude lipstick, I don't think the lasting power is that great but I really don't mind reapplying it if I have to. I just really like the formula so I am not really fussed about the lasting power. The colour pay off on application is great and it actually lasts for a good while if there are no lip actions like eating, drinking, kissing, etc.

Cost
I have seen this priced for about £8.19 which I think is the RRP. I got this for £7.99 from Sainsbury's which is not a huge difference per say but it was also on offer as 3 for 2 so £16 for 3 lipsticks I think is fair. At the moment of writing this, Superdrug and Boots all have offers of 3 for 2 across their range so now is a good time to pick it up.

Personal Thoughts
I have been using this almost everyday since I purchased them because they are just the kind of shades and formula I like for my lips especially as an everyday/work type of lipstick because it's really subtle and classy. I love the packaging and I may just be tempted to try the other shades in the range. Have you tried any of the L'Oreal Privee Collection? See you in my next post...x

Clinique Long Lasting Lipstick in All Heart Review

Hi My Lovelies,
I hope you had a fab weekend. I have somewhat been on a roll with lipsticks lately. If you have not checked out my previous post on my latest freebie from MAC which is the MAC Vegas Volt, I suggest you head on over to read it. So, I was having this really intense and somewhat stressful day when I received an email from Clinique in John Lewis telling me i was entitled to a Free Long Lasting Lipstick in shade All Heart plus a makeover/skin care consultation.  I was super pleased and there could not have been a better time for that email to hit my phone. Truly, God watches over me always. If you remember my previous post on the Clinique Anti-Blemish Range where i purchased from John Lewis, I mentioned that I had a skin consultation and they took down my details which was why they sent me the email for another free consultation and lipstick. I think it was a very different personal touch and excellent customer service. I was very impressed.  To be honest, I was not interested in any consultation, i just wanted the lipstick, lol.

My Clinique Lipstick History
This is my second lipstick from Clinique; my first being a gift from my lovely mum a really long time ago(like 13 years ago) and can you believe I still have that lipstick (it was my first lipstick ever!)...don't believe me? Check out this picture above (the lipstick has long been finished) but I kept the packaging and that's how much I love nice packaging and i appreciate receiving gifts especially from my Mum. :-))

Packaging
I can see their packaging has not really changed too much from the old one i had before. It comes in their signature light green packaging which also has their signature "C" at the top of the lid. It's a really clean and pretty packaging and I am not sure i have another lipstick with green packaging.

Shade

This shade is called All Heart and I think it is such a different name which kind of sticks to my memory for no apparent reason. For those, who are not really ready to try red lipsticks, I think this is a gorgeous shade to try out as it is not a perfect red but one you can get away with. I would describe it as a Reddish Plum shade which has some rich Pink undertones that look very flattering on the lips. I absolutely love this shade because it is very wearable.

Application
It glides on really easily like a dream and it has a creamy finish with some shine when you are done so you can skip the lip gloss application. I think it is a brilliant lipstick because it does not matter if your lips are in a bad condition, especially in the current climate, it still makes your puckers look delicious. I believe it has some moisturising powers because my lips do not feel dry at all even when it has been wiped off.

Long Lasting?

Oh yeah, it is fairly long lasting but not in the same way as MAC Lipsticks especially from the MAC Amplified Range. I noticed while wearing it that it applies like a lip stain, don't get excited, it's not. I have heard many good things about the Clinique Chubby Sticks for the Lips and I may actually consider buying one especially because i am very impressed with this lipstick. I believe this has a very good wear time even when you eat or drink, it still is visible which is lovely but you need to reapply for its full on effect which i do not mind.

Cost
I got this as a freebie during a Clinique Consultation as mentioned in the beginning of the post. The packaging of mine says "not for sale" so i almost wondered if it was not a shade they sold. Be rest assured, it is actually for sale. This baby would set you back for £17. But it looks different to this one as Clinique have revamped their packaging from their signature pristine green packaging to a classy silver packaging which I now wish I got  instead.(I know, we women can never be satisfied). A freebie is a freebie so I am glad still.

Verdict
I think it is a nice lipstick especially for the Fall/Autumn season and the Christmas season that is upon us sooner than we thought. I would definitely repurchase another shade from the Long Lasting Range or perhaps try one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks seeing that this lipstick impressed me. I hope you have enjoyed this post and i would catch you soon in my next post...xx

Top Red Lipsticks (My Favourites)

Hey Lovelies,
It's a new month already and I am really excited for September for so many reasons and I hope everyone has a wonderful month ahead. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you'd remember sometime ago I was doing a series on Makeup for Beginners and everyone else and I split the series into Face, Eyes and Lips. I never write a post on Lips because I thought it would be easier to write one on Red Lipsticks which is why this post is up here. If you still want a mini post on BeautyStore Lipsticks, leave me a comment and your wish would be my command. Red Lipstick is one of the trickiest lipsticks to wear for many ladies especially darker skinned ladies because it can look so wrong if you don't choose shades of red that flatter your skin tone. To be honest, I don't have any set tips for finding your right shade; I found mine through trial and error but I would share with you some of the shades that look flattering on me and may be flattering to you as well. Having said that, you may notice that not all of them are bright red in the pictures to follow which is because bright red lipsticks don't really fit me so I tend to go for the darker spectrum of reds and the reds mixed with a tinge of pink...Let's get started.

Avon Lipstick in Really Rosy
This was my first real dabble at the red lip and I absolutely loved it. It's a light almost not there red lipstick with some gold speckles embedded within it. I think this colour would go well with many skin tones and the formula is just about right although I would not say it is a moisturising formula. I love the sleek packaging and the lipstick is shaped on a slanted shape which makes it easy to apply but I think may be a problem when it is about to finish. But I love this red lipstick a lot.

L'Oreal Cherry Tulle 179
I already wrote a post on this lipstick because it was part of the products I won from a competition sponsored by L'Oreal and W Magazine in their "because you're worth it " Campaign..check out the post here. Cherry Tulle has a sheer formula which is like a cross between a lipstick and lip gloss which is why I love it. It looks quite a dark red but on application it is a light red sheer colour with a slight lustre. It's one of the lipsticks I grab and the packaging is just excellent! It reminds me of YSL lipsticks.

MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo
Again, I have a post on this on my  Favourite Mac Lipstick Post here. Ruby Woo is still one of the most raved red lipstick ever because it is very flattering to many skin tones including darker skin tones. Ruby Woo is a matte bright red lip stick which is also long lasting. I find it a little drying and I know. Lot of people don't use lip gloss with it but I do and it does change its appearance a bit but mehn!!! soft lips come first.

Sally Hansen Lipstick in Soft Red
This is another easy wearing red lipstick which is also very moisturising. It is also a light red lipstick but it does not really last on your lips for long but you can always reapply. I love how soft and moisturised my lips feel with this lipstick and there is absolutely no need for a lip gloss unless you choose to.

Revlon Lipstick in Wine With Everything
As the name suggests, this is not really a proper red lipstick but I think it is a close colour especially for ladies who want to make the transition to red lipstick. It was part of a set of 12 Revlon Lipsticks in a cube pack which my cousin gave me. I think she bought it on an airline on her way to SA but that's by the way. It is a rich wine lip colour with a slight dip into the pink spectrum. It has a moisturising formula with some lustre to it which means your lips are soft with the right amount of shine.

MUA Lipstick in Shade 9
I totally love MUA lipsticks because they are well pigmented and the MUA Shade 9 is no exception to this. It is a bright red lip colour with a nice lustre to it and it has a creamy finish. I am quite surprised at how long this lipstick lasts on my lips because I know some MUA lipsticks require reapplication despite how pigmented they are when initially used. I really like this colour but I am not sure it is the best to start out with if you want to take the big bold step of wearing the red lip. I am not sure if this shade is also very flattering to many skin colours especially if you are quite dark skinned.

That's it folks. I hope you enjoyed this post and you may try some of these red lipsticks to see which suits you. I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. See you in my next post...toodles...xxxx
