Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio Review

I usually prefer moisturising lipsticks and sometimes good quality matte lipsticks compared to lip glosses or lip balms. With lip balms, I look for lip balms that are pigmented enough to show on my lips and non-greasy formulas. When I saw that the Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio (super long name) was on sale, I popped onto the website to purchase this set. They are still on sale at the time of publishing this post.  I am so glad I did because I was on there to purchase the Ecstasy Eyeshadow Palette (which I also got) but the lip balms drew me in as well.

Packaging
If you have ever purchased anything from Pat McGrath, I am sure you already know to expect satin glitter beads in the packaging (I honestly don't know what to call them) and they can get really messy if they are spilled. I don't how I feel about these satin/glitter beads but I guess that's her signature thing so I will go with the flow. I liked that my order was well packaged and the lip balms were intact. The actual packaging of the lip balms are so well made and such a joy to use. I love the colour scheme of white and gold which always looks classy and luxurious. The white part of the lip balm has a glossy finish so it does not get messy with stains or fingerprints. I also adore the gold lip design. These lip balms are proper minis; each lip balm is 1.2g. It's a good size to test out a lip balm range or to have in your go-to makeup bag. Inside the Lip Balm Trio, you get three lip balms- Clear, Blow Up and Flesh 3.

Quality and Cost // Link //£10 (on sale)
Pat McGrath website describes these lip balms as divine lip balms that leave lips sensually smooth with a dewy luminous finish. These lip balms have one of the best finishes I have tried. They glide on easily without feeling heavy/greasy on the lips and they last for a considerable amount of time. Of course, you may have to reapply if you eat or drink but I think they last better than some lip balms I have tried. I particularly love how pigmented because I normally expect lip balms to be sheer. They show up on my lips and as a woman of colour, I am very happy and impressed about it. I have tried some lip balms which were marketed as having colour and they have appeared clear on my lips (no colour at all) so having one that does the job is delightful. This trio originally retails for £20 but it is currently on sale for £10; it is so worth it.

Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm (Clear)
As the name suggests, it is a clear lip balm and I love how well it applies on the lips. I have been using it regularly to moisturise and smooth out my lips and it does a great job. It has a very slight scent to it but you don't notice unless you are actively looking for it. I know it will be great during the colder season when my lips usually gets dry. It works so great underneath other lipsticks as well including matte lip products. If you struggle to wear matte lipsticks, I will recommend using it underneath as it does not interfere with matte lipstick formulas.

Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm (Blow Up)
Blow Up is my perfect nude and everyday lip colour and I am so glad that this shade is included in the trio. I will describe it as fleshy pink nude shade that completely captures my lips but way better. I think I may have to buy the full size because I feel it is going to run out soon  because I have been reaching for it a lot. It is perfect for everyday wear which is why I believe it will be a favourite for many people. I don't need to use a lip liner with it which is great especially when I am in a hurry. I think this shade will suit a lot of complexions but I think if you are way darker than me then you may need a lip liner.

Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm (Flesh 3)
Flesh 3 is the shade I pull out when I want to make a subtle statement. Flesh 3 feels like that bold lip colour you want to wear when you don't want to go all out. I would describe it as a flattering warm toned plum shade. I am so impressed with how pigmented it is and I can't even imagine how pigmented the actual lipsticks from Pat McGrath will look like. This is another shade that will suit various skin tones. I have tried this with and without a lip liner and I think it looks better on me with a lip liner. I don't mind because on days I would be wearing this shade, I know I will definitely have the time for it. It's now my go-to weekend shade.

I am so impressed with this Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio and I am looking forward to trying out more lip products from the brand. I may definitely invest in the full size of Blow Up and possibly try out other trio shades. I have my eyes on some of the eyeshadow palettes but they are quite expensive so that purchase (when and if it happens) will be an absolute treat. I did purchase the Eye Ecstasy Eyeshadow Palettes in the sale so keep an eye out for that review.  Have you tried any products from Pat McGrath?
