My Sign Collection Makeup Review

I was recently introduced to the My Sign Star Collection by the founder Krista Madden and I just felt so proud of her. I believe this was launched back in November and it's such a unique concept. I don't think I have ever come across anything similar which is why I am very excited about it. You all know I am a huge fan of makeup and when it is good quality and affordable, I will always want to share it on the blog. I've only had these gorgeous pieces for a short while but I am really impressed with them.

Brief Overview of My Sign Star Collection
I am sure from the name you can already guess that the My Sign Star Collection has something to do with Zodiac signs. My Sign is a collaboration with Makeup Revolution and it was developed by Krista Madden. Krista herself has had over 30 years experience in the beauty and makeup world which is absolutely incredible and she knows her onions when it comes to beauty. She is also the founder of  Handpicked Media which is an innovative digital agency. My Sign by Revolution is essentially makeup inspired by your Zodiac Star sign and it is actually the first beauty range with an astrology theme. As far as I know, there are three products within the line which include the Complete Eye Wheel, Lip Glosses and Fragrances (rollerball and body mist). The Fragrances have not yet been launched but keep an eye out for them in stores and online. Although I am not very crazy about astrology, I absolutely love this concept and the products are very impressive. I am Capricorn and I was kindly sent the Capricorn line which includes the Capricorn Complete Eye Wheel* and the Capricorn Lip Gloss*. The great thing is their website is quite an interactive one which lets you find your star sign and it brings up your matching My Sign makeup. It's really strange but the shades I got for the Capricorn line are shades that suit me so well as you'd see in the photos below. There are also some interesting write ups about the personalities of the various signs so if you are into astrology, you'd love it so much.

Packaging
The packaging is really cute and well made especially for the price. It is not flimsy at all and they even incorporated some rose gold in there which is the rave at the moment. For that alone, they get a mighty thumbs up from me. The lip gloss has a lovely doe foot wand which applies the product easily and the EyeWheel is a nice size which I can easily pop into my makeup bag  and will be perfect for travelling. It's compact, cute and easy to use and I think many people would like it. Also, the products are cruelty free which is always a good thing to know.

Capricorn Complete Eye Wheel* // Link //£5
When I got this in the post, I was like yeah, this Eye Wheel is so me because I knew I'd make use of every shade. The Complete Eye Wheel is designed to help create an amazing eye look from brows to eye shadows. Inside each Eye Wheel, you get an eye primer, a highlighter, 2 shades of brow powder (duo brow powder) and 3 eye shadows. I can't even imagine the amount of work that went into choosing the colours for each of the zodiac signs. There are 12 Complete Eye Wheels to match the 12 Zodiac Signs and nothing stops you from trying other signs. I know I would and I have my eyes on the Aries, Pisces and Scorpio. Inside each box, you also get a 2017 forecast written by professional astrologer Julia Fisher and I thought  that was a good touch.

The first thing I did after I took photos was to swatch them and I was very impressed with the pigmentation. To be fair, I was not surprised because I know Makeup Revolution/Tam Beauty make really good eyeshadows and I own a few of them already. However, these eyeshadows feel quite buttery to touch and apply so well. I really wanted to see how the products will work together so I did my entire eye look with them. I do have to say, I didn't really need to use any other product apart from a brow liner and an eye liner (I do prefer brow pomade and felt tip eye liners). I could have easily used the brow powder as an eye liner and brow liner. I used the brow powder another time and I actually like it as it looked very natural.

The primer has a somewhat creamy/pasty texture but it applies very smoothly on the lid. It really helps the eyeshadows apply flawlessly and improves their pigmentation and lasting power. I love the highlighter which is in the middle of the wheel. It is incredibly pigmented as well and it looked so fabulous as a brow highlighter and in my inner eye. I love the eye shadows because the shades are so me. At first, I thought I would have no use for the blue shade but I was so wrong because it works well as a lid colour and as an under eye colour too. The brow powders looked so lovely when I tried them out (on a different day-not the day of the pictures) and they also doubled as crease/transition colours which is why I love them so much. We all love multi tasking products, don't we? I know I have said this a lot but I do really like this Eye Wheel and I think it's so practical!! I'd highly recommend checking it out and at £5, I think it's an amazing bargain for the quality you get.

My Sign Lip Gloss (Capricorn) // Link //£3
I am not sure if I have tried many lip products from MUR so I was quite looking forward to trying this one. The shade Capricorn is a nude brown shade and I honestly thought it would look very light on my lips. Surprisingly, it was not as light as I thought it would be. I paired it with a brown lip liner and I do have to say it is an almost perfect nude for my lips. I really think it goes so well with the eyeshadows in the Capricorn Eye Wheel. Although this is a lip gloss, it is highly pigmented (almost like a liquid lipstick). It coats my lips with just one swipe and I was pleasantly surprised by that.

This is going to be my new work lipstick because it is really good nude shade which is my preference for work. One of my pet peeves with lip glosses are stickiness. However, I am so pleased to let you know that it is almost non-sticky. There is still a sight stickiness because it is a gloss but it is quite negligible. Your hair is not going to get caught in it even if there is a crazy wind outside. I love that it also does not sit too heavy on the lips as well. In terms of lasting power, it is really good and I did notice slight fading towards the end of the day. I don't mind at all because it's always a joy to reapply.

The Look I created (Capricorn)
I thought I should include a picture of how I worked with all the products in the Eye Wheel in case you wanted to recreate the look. The first product to use is the primer which glides on so well across the eye. Next product, I used was the lighter brown brow powder as a transition colour. Then, I went in with the darker brown brow powder to define my crease. The next shade was the bronze taupey shade which I laid on the lids and then placed the bronze gold shade on top. I used the blue shade on my under eye. Lastly, I used the highlighter in the middle as a brow highlight and in my inner tear ducts. Viola!! I was done and it was really quick because all the shades I needed were in one palette or wheel. I did not use the brow powders on my brows for this picture but I will share other pictures on my Instagram when I used them again. I never really create looks like this (I mean like lining my water line and making it a little dramatic) but I loved creating it. Would you believe this is the first time I am using blue eyeshadow under my eye? I love it!! For my face, I used Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish Foundation,(Golden) L.A. Girl Pro Concealer (Fawn), Nude by Nature Contour Kit* and Nude by Nature Highlighter*.

Where to buy
A little bird told me that the My Sign Collection is only available for a limited time so if you are interested, this is the time to get it. The range can be purchased from Superdrug online, in selected Superdrug Stores (over 300 as far as I know) and TAM Beauty Online. I believe these are the only stockists for now and if there are anymore, I'd update this post.

Overall Thoughts
I am so happy I got a chance to try out the lovely MySign Collection and as already mentioned, I will be purchasing some of the other Eye Wheels because I am an eyeshadow junkie (no shame there). I also think this will make an amazing Christmas gift (stocking fillers) and even a birthday gift. I'd be really pleased if I received this on my birthday. I am just pleased with the range. You can follow My Sign on their Twitter and Instagram for more information and stunning photos. That's it from me today and I hope you had a lovely weekend. Would you be trying out the My Sign Collection?
