August 2015 Favourites

I feel like I have neglected this blog for so long and I have really missed blogging. It's been almost a week since I last blogged which is insane as I used to blog almost everyday (or 4-5 times a week). I have been incredibly busy and feeling slightly overwhelmed with a lot of things. Anyway, I have planned a chatty post which should go up by the weekend or so. However, I feel energised now and I have planned a lot of posts to go up for the rest of the month (fingers crossed I stick to my schedule). Although I was not blogging on the blog, I was very active on Instagram -@Fashstyleliv so make sure you are following me as I post all many photos that don't make it on here.

August was definitely one of my favourite months because I got to meet many amazing people, tried many new products and worked with some brands I love. Most of all, I attended a few amazing events and I always feel thankful that I am given the opportunity to go. I discovered quite a few new favourites this month and I am excited to share them on here + full reviews will be up for the rest of the month. Right let's just dive in....

Foreo Luna Mini* //£99// Link // Review
I have been testing out a lot of skincare this month and my skin has been on its best behaviour all through this month. The Foreo Luna Mini has definitely played a huge role and I am so pleased I got a chance to try it. It looks like such a simple device but you would never imagine how effective it is. I have not skipped using it since I received it and it is now a super staple in my skincare routine. If you have any issues with acne or you can't seem to cleanse your skin properly, I highly suggest trying it out. It is very pricey but it is absolutely worth it and I have not heard anyone complain about it breaking them out.

Pixi Glow Tonic // £18 // Link // Review
I have repurchased the Pixi Glow Tonic because it is one toner that actually works so well for my skin. I find that not every toner or product that contains Glycolic Acid works in the same way as this does. I think it may be down to the way the other ingredients work with each other that makes it such a unique and effective product. Again, if you suffer from acne or acne scarring, this is one product that will have very positive effects on your skin. It also brightens the complexion and gives the skin such a luminous glow that we all love.

Fake Bake Beauty Skin D-Luxe Cleansing Melt* // £15 // Link
I have a review for this Cleansing Melt coming soon but I have to talk about it because it is amazing. It is very similar to the Clinique Take the Day off Balm but I do prefer the smell of this one. It smells so lovely but it does such an amazing job at taking off my makeup. I love using it especially on days when I go out or I am very busy as it leaves my skin very soft unlike when I use some wipes and/or micellar water. I had no idea I would love it as much as I did but I really do!!

Ark Skincare Skin Pefector Hydration Injection Mask* // £35 // Link
This is another new skincare product for me but I absolutely love it. I save it for my pamper days or days when my skin is looking a little worse for wear. I love the texture and the way it applies on my skin because it looks exactly like a balm but it works as a balm. It smells like what they would use in a spa and somehow, that makes me feel very relaxed. Once it is on the skin, you can feel its hydrating effect immediately and when you wash it off, you are left with amazing soft skin. I would do a full review soon so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Body Shop African Ximenia Body Scrub*// £18 //Link
I am sure everyone must be sick of seeing the Body Shop Spa of the World range on social media ad everywhere you look but they are seriously incredible. They smell so delicious and it is very hard to step away from the testers in-store. The African Ximenia Scrub has to be one of the best I have tried so far. The texture is so spot on as it does not feel too smooth or too rough (grainy) and it smells so delicious. I would be reviewing the products I was sent as I have been testing it out (and enjoying them) all for a little while now.

YSL Baby Doll Mascara // £25 // Link// Review
This is hands down the best mascara I have tried and I have sang its praises a lot. I love the way it hugs my little lashes and gives them a curl, length and volume all in one sweep. I have mentioned this a lot but my lashes are short so I need a mascara that does it all for them to look lovely. I recently repurchased this in a gift set which came with a smaller sample (for travelling) and a black Kohl which I am excited to try.

By Terry Cover Expert Foundation// £45 // Link // Review (on sale in Space NK)
I reviewed this foundation earlier this year and I loved it although I did not have my exact shade. However, Space NK had another sales this year and I was able to purchase my exact shade which make me very delighted. I have fallen back in love with it and I have even mixed both shades and it looked amazing. I think one appreciates the full effect of a foundation when you have your exact shade or a very close one. I am also currently trying the Light Expert Click Brush which I attended the launch so expect a review soon. I have done a massive haul from By Terry which will be up soon (fingers crossed I have good lighting to take some shots). I am really loving the brand even more especially after I attended the launch and learnt more about the founder of the brand.

Lanolips Antibacterial Hand cream// £10 // Link
The good thing about trying new products from brands is that you get to discover other amazing products from the brand. I was sent the Lanolips Lip Balm* which is one of the best I have ever tried. I decided to go into Boots and see what else the brands had in stock. They had these hand creams which are also antibacterial and I just purchased one to try. I really like the slim packaging and I think it looks cute. When I tried it out, I went straight back and purchased three more because I am completely obsessed with them. It makes my hands soft and smell so lovely. I thought they would have a dodgy smell seeing that they are anti-bacterial but it is quite the opposite. You do need to have a little swatch when next you are in Boots.

L'Oreal Gentle Eye Makeup Remover// £2.33 // Link // Review
I have already spoken about this little gem over here but it had to be in my favourites. I have to say it has quickly become the best drug store eye makeup remover for me. It used to be the Rimmel Let it Go Eye Makeup remover which I still love but the L'Oreal one ticks all the boxes for me. It is such an amazing inexpensive eye makeup remover and works like it is a high end one. It does not feel greasy or too wet and it takes off my eye makeup really well even naughty waterproof eye makeup. I can't believe it took me so long to discover it but I would be purchasing quite a few backups especially when there are offers.

Overall Thoughts
That's pretty much it for this month. It was indeed a skin care month for me and I ended the month with an incredible facial from Biologique Recherche* which I would be reviewing tomorrow. I am so happy August is done and dusted and we are looking forward to more amazing things in September. I am off to an event later today with Ultimo at House of Fraser* and I am really excited to see their new collection. I am sure I would blog about it soon so you can see some pictures. I hope you had an amazing month and I will catch you in my next post...xx

    1. It is really good but I am so glad I am finally going to try the Biologique Recherche P 50 lotion which I have heard many good things about. Apparently, Pixi is a dupe for the P 50 lotion...xx

  4. Yes, it really works well with acne scarring and hyper pigmentation. Body Shop has really been bringing it to the table and the Spa of the World range is one of my favourite launches from them (I love every product in that range) and of course their Vitamin C range...xx
