I was so lucky to get some gorgeous Vincent Longo Cosmetics to try out before the UK launch and I was so intrigued by the brand. I already wrote a full review of the products I initially tried and it is worth a read. Just in time for its UK launch, I was once again kindly invited by the lovely folks at Mark McDonald Consultancy to celebrate the Vincent Longo UK launch. I was kindly given these babies in the goody bag from the Masterclass. I could not wait to put them to test. If you follow me on Instagram, you'd have seen some photos and an InstaStory of me trying these products out.
In the Masterclass, we were shown how to use the Vincent Longo products to get the best results. I'd talk about the event and share the photos in another post but today's post will focus on the new bits I got to try. If you are after the brand's story and any other information, head on over to my previous post. I don't want to repeat myself so I am just going to dive into the post and get started...
Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Foundation* // Link // £43.50
The Water Canvas Foundation is described as an oil-free formulation made up of 75% Micro water and Seaweed Extract and it is designed to provide a real skin look, feel and finish. I already had the shade Golden Tan which I thought was quite a good match for my complexion but I was not using it correctly. During London Fashion Week with Vincent Longo, I was invited backstage by the MMCL Team and I watched the Makeup Artists work their magic on models with this foundation. I even got a mini makeover where the lovely Emma (check her out on Instagram) showed me how to correctly use this foundation. She matched me to another shade Honey Pecan which is an even better match to my complexion.
The previous one I had got destroyed as you can see from the picture because I was not using it correctly. This time around I was more careful and I have fallen absolutely in love with it. I start off by applying with the a flat foundation brush, taking care not to to apply too much pressure on the surface. A little swipe is fine as it will pick up the right amount of product you need. I build it up around my face and then use a buffing brush to blend it in and that's really all I need to do. I call this my weekend foundation because it is absolutely perfect and looks like my skin. The texture is so different from any other foundation I have tried and this is translated to the finish I get. I don't need to use a concealer or powder as it really is enough on its own. It lasts all day and is very light weight. The only snag is it's very expensive at £43 but I promise it is absolutely worth the splurge.
Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Blush* //Link // £33.50
I was already impressed with the Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder foundation so I had high expectations from the Blush. The Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Blush is described as a unique creme to powder formula that is easy to apply and gives the skin a healthy glow. It also contains 75% Microwater with Botanical seaweed and Vitamin E to protect the skin. I do have to say that this is not your regular/typical cream blush as this has a really innovative formula. It is very similar to the Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Foundation and it's such a joy to apply.
The shade I have is Swan Lake and I would describe it as a true pink shade. It appears quite subtle on my complexion but the good thing about Vincent Longo products, especially the foundation sand blushes, is that you can build them up to your desire. Yet, they remain ever so natural and I think this is all down to the unique water formula. I love to use my fingers to apply thisblush and if I want to be extra, I'd blend it out with my Beauty Blender (but with light movements otherwise it'd steal away the blush from my cheeks). If you have a lighter complexion to mine, you'd really adore this blush. There are four other shades in total: Terra Dew, Forever Flush, Nature Ray and Swan Lake. There is a shade to suit all skin tones and I think the Terra Dew or Forever Flush will suit darker skinned ladies.
Pearl X Eyeshadow* // Link //£19
This is by far my absolute favourite product (along with the Water Canvas Foundation) from the entire Vincent Longo collection. I already spoke about them before but I could not help talking about them again especially as I got a new shade (Gypsy Rose). The Pearl X Eyeshadow is described as a sophisticated, multi textured eyeshadow which delivers shades of matte and shimmer that effortlessly blend as you apply. This description totally captures the essence of this eyeshadow. There are five shades to choose from and they include: Luna Beach, Etherea, Gypsy Rose, Morning Glory and Novalei. I now own Luna Beach and Gypsy Rose and they are so beautiful.
The reason why I love them is how versatile they are as you are getting quite a few shades in one pan. A little bird told me that the mosaic design of these eyeshadows are so unique that no two eyeshadow pans are exactly the same. If it's true, I think that's incredible. You can use one side of the eyeshadow or you can swirl your eyeshadow across the entire pan and create your own bespoke shade. The Gypsy Rose even doubles as a highlighter for me. I was using it for a good while before the La Belle Luce Highlighters arrive and I enjoyed it. The lasting power and pigmentation of these shadows are very impressive and I love travelling with them due to their compact size.
La Bella Luce Highlighter*
This is actually the latest addition to my Vincent Longo family and I actually received these babies last week. I have not used them for a long time yet but I still wanted to include them. The La Bella Luce Highlighters are designed to create an ethereal glow with luminescent pearls that reflect light to brighten any complexion. They are so gorgeous and they have the same mosaic-like design as the Pearl X Eyeshadows. I have two shades- Patina and Flora. Patina is more like a golden highlighter which I feel has the perfect hue to suit all skin tones. It looks very flattering on my complexion and I love it because I can still wear it to work without wondering if I look like a disco ball or not. It can be built up if you want to go extra and the lasting power is very impressive. I love the sleek packaging and it just feels very luxurious. The texture is so buttery to touch and to apply and I just have fallen so hard for it even in such a short time. I have not given the Flora shade a lot of wear just yet because I think it is more suitable for nights out on my complexion. If you have a lighter complexion to mine, you'd enjoy it both as a day and night time highlighter. Keep your eyes peeled as I would be sharing some swatches soon.
Lip and Cheek Gel Stain* //Link //£18.50
The Lip and Cheek Stain is described as a dual-purpose stain which is long wearing and perfect for an active lifestyle. Yes, it absolutely does what it says in my opinion as I've never had cause to reapply it and its lasting power is very impressive. I was so lucky to try another shade which is Baby Boo. I love the soft red shade as it is flattering on my complexion and I feel it'd suit so many other complexions. Again, the formula is so different from any other stain I have tried. It feels exactly like water but it smells so delicious. Although it has a light texture, the way it stains the lips and its lasting power is very impressive and unexpected given the texture. I just love the two shades I have- Sweet Appolina and Baby Boo and I am so pleased I have these two colours as they are appropriate for many seasons.
Where to Buy
As far as I know, there are currently two retailers in the UK that carry Vincent Longo Makeup and they are Cult Beauty and Sukha London. If you are over in the US or other parts of the world, you can shop directly on the Vincent Longo website. I will update this post once I know other retailers who carry the range. I do have to say these products are premium with a matching premium price tag however this is all down to the expertise behind their development and unique ingredients. In addition to looking amazing on the skin, some of the products offer skincare benefits.
I think I have fallen even more in love with brand after using the products for a longer time because they have stood the test of time. If you were looking to try any of the products without breaking the bank, I'd suggest trying out the Pearl X Eyeshadows. Believe me, they are even more gorgeous in real life and for the price, you are getting a lot of value. If you are looking to splurge on one item, I'd suggest trying out the Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Foundation. It's just so beautiful! A massive thanks to the lovely folks at MMCL for gifting me all these amazing Vincent Longo products. Have you tried any products from Vincent Longo Cosmetics?
