Laura Geller Beauty Launch in House of Fraser

Laura Geller is a US based beauty brand which has been sold in QVC UK for a while now and is also sold online  on Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Beauty Bay, Debenhams and most recently, House of Fraser. I was kindly invited to attend their launch in House of Fraser last month and I was quite excited about the event because there was also going to be a carnival show in addition to the launch. I made my way to House of Fraser Oxford Circus which is one store I have been frequenting in the past two months. The weather was so lovely that Saturday so I was in very high spirits. I always avoid going to Oxford Circus on weekends because it is absolutely manic but I actually quite enjoyed the buzz that day (maybe the weather made everything better).

I met some other bloggers and beauty enthusiast downstairs and we all made our way upstairs to the suite Laura Geller Beauty had for the day. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely Laura Geller Beauty Team and the Mark McDonald Consultancy Ltd team who take care of their distribution in the UK. I had a chance to check out all the lovely products and what stood out for me was their pigmentation (and lovely packaging, of course) . I was absolutely impressed and I could not wait to see them in action in makeovers. Of course, we had something to eat and drink which is always handy at events.

We were shown a variety of products from the range and some of the products that stood out for me include the Laura Geller Delectable Eyeshadow Palette, Love Me Dew Lip Crayon, Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush and the Brow Sculpting Marker. All the other products were equally amazing but these ones are top on my wish list because I saw them in action.  I was kindly gifted some of them to test at home and I am obsessed with them. I was really impressed on the colour pay off particularly because the model who the makeup artist demonstrated on was dark skinned (darker than me) and all the products looked stunning on her. I love brands that take the time to cater to a wide range of skin tones.

Laura Geller Beauty is well known for their baked products which look so lovely particularly the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator (Gilded Honey) which I need to get into my collection.  In my opinion,  they make one of the best baked makeup products I have tried and they come in a wide range to choose from including their Baked Split Highlighter, Baked Colour Intense Eyeshadow Duos and Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush.

The Laura Geller Pro Makeup Artists from the USA were around to tell us more about the products and do some demonstrations on the models. I really liked the makeup demo and the Makeup Artist was very happy to answer all the questions we had. It was such a relaxed event and everyone present felt free to ask any questions to which she provided excellent answers. We also asked her what her favourite products were from the range which was quite difficult for her to narrow down because all the products are amazing. Eventually, she narrowed it down to the Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer and the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey.

Soon, it was time to pop downstairs to see the counter and I was delighted to check it out. The Laura Geller Beauty counter in House of Fraser (Oxford Street) did not disappoint at all as it is a true beauty haven. It is also located in a choice section of House of Fraser; just a little distance from the entrance and you really can't miss it. Of course, the counter was buzzing as people had mini makeovers and swatched various products. The Makeup Artists did an incredible job on all the people who stopped by for mini makeovers and I loved how they took their time. Usually, I find that some Makeup Artists may be in a rush when there are many people waiting but these ones gave everyone good attention. There were also quite a few Laura Geller Makeup Artists at hand so no one had to wait for too long at all and they acknowledged everyone waiting. I really liked the good customer service they had going on at the counters.

On the launch day, they also offered free drinks to everyone who stopped by which I thought was really cool!! There was some music playing and the tempo increased just before the carnival started. There were two or three shows on the day and I caught a glimpse of the first one just as I arrived and I was more than excited to watch the second one. There was even extended area for more makeovers and many people had their makeup done. I loved how they used the space to ensure everyone interested got a chance to see the  Laura Geller makeup in action.

The lovely Carnival Costumers- Bajan Revellers and Lagnaiappe Mas were behind the carnival show and they looked spectacular. The music was so on point and it was an amazing experience just watching them sashay and dance across House of Fraser Oxford Street. They even went outside the store to take selfies with people on the street and I loved how cheerful they were. It has to be one of the most exciting and colourful events I have ever been invited to and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. I was so sad to leave but this event really brightened up my weekend.

I was also kindly gifted with a goody bag containing the Laura Geller Delectable Palette in Cool and the Love Me Dew Lip Crayon. and some other goodies. A big thank you to Laura Geller Beauty and the Mark McDonald Consultancy for organising such an epic event. I would be reviewing the Laura Geller Makeup products shortly as I have been testing them for a month now. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you in my next one....xx
*Gifted PR SamplesI was kindly invited to this event but not obliged to blog about it. I could not resist sharing the lovely Laura Geller photos and carnival photos with you lot!!. Read my full disclaimer here

By Terry Makeup Haul and Collection

I am so glad I am finally putting up my By Terry Makeup haul after showing so many sneak peeks over on Instagram. If you follow me on Instagram (and you should if you are not), you would have seen several images of these products which I am obsessed with. I did a massive haul back in August and September. I was also kindly given two products at a By Terry event- The Light Expert Click Brush *and Terrybly Mascara*. The best part is I filmed a video as well because I think it is very important to see these products in real life. I have a direct link here and it is linked below of course if you fancy watching it. I would love it if you subscribed to my channel over here so you don't miss any new videos.

By Terry Makeup has to be one of my best makeup brands I have tried and it is mainly because they are such high quality. They are very much on the higher end of the scale but I decided to give myself a treat just because I could. I also got a few products in the sales like the Cover Expert Foundation and the Aqua Print Eyeshadows  were also on sale in Space NK a few months ago. Some of the products I purchased have been on my wish list for so long and I am so glad I finally have them in my collection. Today's post is basically an overview and first impressions post. I will be posting specific and in-depth reviews of the individual items so keep your eyes peeled for them. If you want to hear more about any specific products, do let me know in the comment box below.

By Terry Eye Designer Palette (Color-2) // £69 // Link
I am sure you all may be sick of hearing me harp about this eyeshadow palette by now but I am totally obsessed with it. It has the most beautiful sleek packaging ever and it is very compact. It comes with a purple velvet pouch which is ideal for travelling or just storing the palette. Inside the palette, you get 10 eyeshadows which are amazing. All the colours are so wearable and I have rocked them all at different times. Their texture is very buttery and easy to apply. They can also be used wet or dry but I usually opt for using them dry. The pigmentation is really good as you would expect from By Terry and the best part is it is very buildable. Of course, it is more pigmented when used wet. I have not been able to put down this palette at all because it has all the colours I adore. It is expensive but when you think about the breakdown cost of each eyeshadow, it does not sound too bad. It comes in at £6.90 for each eyeshadow and I don't think that's terrible at all. I love it!!

By Terry Ligne BlackStar Eyeliner // £26 // Link
I picked this up at a whim because I have never tried any eyeliner that's not black. These ones are called Intensive Liquid Eyeliners (Tattoos) and they are incredible pigmented. I got two colours- Violet Excess (04) and Grey Motion (05). I am totally in love with the Violet Excess because purple is one of my favourite colours. They apply so easily because they have a pointed and precise tip which gives me so much control during application. The best thing about them is their lasting power. They do not budge no matter what condition you subject them to. I think the Violet Excess appears a little bit more pigmented and has a better lasting power than the Grey Motion. However, I do prefer to have the Grey Motion eyeliner for everyday wear when I don't want a black eyeliner. They are slightly difficult to remove and you do need some oil to take it off or a good eye makeup remover. It is really one to check out and the packaging is to die for.

By Terry Aqua Print Eyeshadows // £23.00 // Link
I had been eyeing these Aqua Print Eyeshadows for a pretty long time and when they went on sales in Space N,  I was delighted. They cost £5.50 from Space NK sales and they are an amazing bargain. If you have tried other pencil eyeshadows like the Bourjois ones, you would totally adore these By Terry ones. I do like the Bourjois ones but some of the shades are slightly difficult to blend. The By Terry ones are so easy to blend although not all the textures are consistent. For the large part they are really creamy, easy to blend, set within a reasonable time and they do not crease. They can be used on their own or as a base under an eyeshadow. If you don't have too much time to waste in the morning, you may want to consider them. I picked up five shades- Peach Tornado, Green Fizz, Blue Fiesta, Frappe Pink and Violet Vibes. I absolutely love them all and the packaging just gets me all so happy. They also come with a sharpener and I am going to make a very bold claim- They are the best sharpenersI have tried. They sharpen all my makeup crayons so well with no waste whatsoever I am super impressed and I have been sharpening everything that needs to be sharpened with them.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadow //£29 // Link
I am sure this is one By Terry Product that everyone is obsessed with and it is none other than the By Terry Ombre Blackstar. They are the best cream eyeshadows in a stick form I have ever tried in my entire life. I can't even tell you how long they have been on my wish list so I was more than delighted to finally try them. I picked up 6 shades which I absolutely adore and they include- Bronze Moon, Misty Rock, Beyond Gold, Fizzy Jade, Ombre Mecure and Silver Granit. I have been using them almost everyday because they are so easy to use. All you need to do is apply it on the eyes, blend with an eyeshadow brush or fingers and you are good to go. They are perfect for people who don't have time but they still want look put together. Of course, I would have a full review on them so watch out for them and I also have swatches and more close up photos. They are incredibly pigmented, easy to blend, set well and last all day on my eye lids. I have not experienced any creasing with them although a few people have said they have experienced creasing with them. If you are thinking of trying any product from By Terry, I strongly recommend trying one of the Ombre Blackstars.

By Terry Terrybly Velvet Rouge// £30 // Link
I saw these liquid lipsticks in the By Terry event I attended in August and I was so impressed with how beautiful they were. Of course, they went straight into my wish list and I picked up two when I was making my By Terry order. I chose two colours I knew I would get so much from- My Red and Cappuccino Pause. I have already featured the Cappuccino Pause in my September favourites and I still use it almost every day till date. It is the perfect nude/everyday lip colour for my lips and I love how I can still wear it to work and to Uni. The other shade My Red is such a gorgeous universal red shade and it suited so many ladies in the By Terry event. I wear this when I want to feel so glam and that's what I was wearing in the video/picture above. The only downside about these Velvet Rouge Lipsticks is the transfer I get. The Cappuccino Pause has minimal transfer but the My Red is on another level. As mentioned in my video, it does not bother me too much but it is something to bear in mind. Of course you can use a loose powder to set it but I have not really done that yet to see how it fares. I will keep you updated in my full review of these Velvet Rouge lippies.

By Terry Blush Terrybly in Beach Bomb //£52 / Link
This was a very last minute purchase because I was already feeling sorry for my wallet but I could not resist. I have not really heard too many things about the By Terry Blushes and I am surprised because they are so lovely. The packaging has to be the best blush packaging I have ever owned as it has a jewel casing. I love everything about it down to the silk pouch it comes with. I picked up the shade Beach Bomb which I am so happy with. It is very, very pigmented so it is best to use a super light hand if you don't want to look like a clown. I love the flattering shade which is a pinkish peach shade. It gives my face a lovely glow and the colour is so perfect for my complexion and anyone else who has a similar skin tone as me. I feel it would look amazing on tanned skin as well and I am pretty sure it is a summer shade!! Full review soon so stay tuned for it.

By Terry Cover Expert Foundation // £45 // Link
I have mentioned this so much and I even have a full review here so I won't rattle on. I was told my perfect shade is being discontinued so I decided to stock up. I don't want to be without it and I am so glad I could pick up enough to last me until they launch more shades for my skin tone. It is one of the foundations that leaves my skin feeling so good and I love the lasting power. I picked up two more backups in Intense Brown (my summer shade) and Warm Copper (my actual shade). They were on sale in Space NK for £11 and I actually got one of them for £6 because I had a £5 voucher to spend. I have never been more pleased!! It was an amazing bargain!!

By Terry Baume De Rose // £39 // Link
This is a proper blogger induced purchase!! At some point, I was seeing this lip balm in every other blog review and I added it to my wish list for when I had a windfall. I believe there are many variants of the Baume de Rose but I went for the original formula. I love the pretty in pink packaging and you get 10g of product which is a lot for a lip balm. It has a slight rose fragrance which I love and the texture feels so moisturising. I have quite a few lip balms but this is the most luxurious one (and with good reason considering the price). It goes on so smoothly and works almost immediately. If I forget to use a lip balm the night before, I know the Baume De Rose will sort my lips out almost immediately. It leaves my lips very smooth, soft and lets my matte lipsticks glide across my lips without interfering with it. I love it although it is quite pricey but I am sure it would last forever as you get a lot of product in the jar.

By Terry Light Expert Click Brush* // £48 // Link
I already mentioned I was kindly invited to a By Terry event back in August and that's what sealed my By Terry obsession especially after I played with the products on my wishlist. The event was to celebrate the launch of the Light Expert Click Brush and I was kindly gifted with one. I was happy and sad at the same time. I was happy because I was really keen to try it out after watching the amazing demo on models. However, I was sad to find that there was no actual shade to suit me. The darkest shade was 11 Amber Brown which thankfully works well as a highlighter for me. To be fair, I quite like it as a highlighter and it really does an amazing job. I just apply it on the areas I want to highlight and it looks so flattering on my complexion. The texture is very light and it never feels cakey even if you already have foundation or any other product on. This feature makes it amazing as a good touch up product that you can just throw into your bag. The best part is it comes with a brush so you can touch up on the go so easily and you can also wash the brush which is removable. It is such a genius idea and I can see other brands copying this design in no time!!

By Terry Mascara Terrybly* // £30 // Link
I was also kindly gifted with this deluxe sample of the Terrybly Mascara which is a growth booster mascara. I am always sceptical when it comes to any mascara that claims it helps with growth but I have been impressed. First off, the packaging is so lovely and it comes in the signature By Terry Gold packaging. I love the wand because it picks up even the littlest lashes you can ever think of. After using it for a short while, I didn't notice any change. However, I gave it some more time and I was surprised that my little lashes appeared to be slightly longer. I am still using it to see more improvements and then I can report back in a full review. Currently, I use it like a mascara serum. I wear it under my usual mascara- The YSL Baby Doll Mascara and they work like a dream. I have also paired it with other drug store mascaras and it does make a good difference which I love.

Overall Thoughts
I am sure you are thinking Wow!! That was a huge haul!! And I totally agree. I know they are mainly on the pricey side but I love every single product I picked up and were gifted with. By Terry products have such great quality and I have enjoyed using every single one of them. I always reach for almost all of them on a daily basis (like at least one from each category) and that says something seeing that I have other makeup products. As mentioned earlier, I did not pick them all up at once; I picked them up over two months and more. If you want to buy only one product from the brand, I strongly recommend the By Terry Ombre Blackstars. You should also keep your eyes peeled on the Space NK sales which would start during Christmas because they have such amazing By Terry sales. That's pretty much it. Have you tried any By Terry Product or which one would you like to try?
